Well according to Brandy Sarionder who own's The Swedish Touch
and Brandi's NO Affleck didn't, BUT what else is she going to say, she isn't going to tell the tabloids that he did! I'm sick of hearing about JLo and Affleck, and I'm happy they broke up so we don't have to hear about them again. BTW Affleck is back in Vancouver filming a new movie so don't be surprised to see him @ Brandi's.

Fact is that is part of the deal at Brandy's. It use to be different but girls have pretty much told me that sometimes if its busy your going to have to pay more to avoid the wait. The place is packed and there is no lack of people in there. I personally don't mind I don't go that often anyway. In reality in there minds if your not going to pay the extra amount your probably not going to spend that much inside anyway.

While visiting Vancouver in February, I met an SP who told me that Affleck went down on 3 strippers that night, but only 1 sold her story, and was blackballed from the industry because of it.

Should we blame 'capitalism' or should we blame those who have some more extra money in their pockets than I do... Actually, pub/club bouncers asking $10-30 so you can get in to the door AND pay for the cover is not anything new in Vancouver and Whistler. One time, I was standing in line with my friends trying to get into one of the trendy club in Whistler, we were told the same thing. We resisted for good 20 minutes (the line was not moving an inch yet VIP line was going fast. We ended up paying for the one-night VIP fee and got in)...

Those bouncers say to you... Well, you want to get in or not... Yes, $20 per person. Or wait till 1:30 a.m. and the club closes at 2...

Is that called 'sub-contracting' or 'privatization'? Even for those stupid bouncers who think they own the club. Pay him $100, he probably licks your ass after you're done. How pathetic!

Don't bother complaining to management....they know about it and don't care.
But think about this....did you ever think the place might be packed to capacity and there is just no room...hassling a bouncer about when can we get in,when can we get in, can we get in yet?...what do you think he's gonna do?
Of course the door tip goes into his pocket and not to management...to who ever said this comment....well duh,is that not obvious??Should they happen to get caught over capacity, at least he has a few tips to cover his $fine$.
You gotta get to that place at least before nine on nearly any night to get in.
Yes I do agree the bouncers are jerks, but if you're more worried about letting bouncers get the better of you than seeing the hottest women in Vancouver I suggest Brandi's is not for you.
P.S. Yes ,Coco still is there and Portia occasionally, but look for a VIP girl named Roxy or Roxanne ....real name is Carla I think.(has been in Playboy Special issues a few times.)

Vancouver's strip joints SUCK. The NBI, way back when they had features/porn stars, was good, as was the Sport, the Met, and the Penthouse after midnight or so. After living in Toronto and experiencing the $5 per song table dances in the early 90's, and trips to Montreal, Niagara Falls, Ottawa (yeah Bare Fax), and Gatineau, it was impossible to come back to the shit passing for a strip scene here. My only saving grace was knowing one of DJs at the NBI and the resulting 2AM BBQ's at my place with the night shift! Oh yeah....

You're right, compared to all of those places the scene in Vancouver isn't very good. But, on the other hand, you could be in WINNIPEG! Then you'd return to the clubs in vancouver and think you were in heaven. Here: No place offers lap dances, there are no champagne lounges, and the girls still have to sell "tickets" for private dances.

Hmm, I've never been to Brandi's, but I hear stuff like that all the time..alls I can say is that it's antics like that that give them their air of exclusivity, so as long as you guys keep buying into it/putting up with it...

Being treated like that is down right insulting. Spend your money else where. And I recall they frisked me when I got to the top of the elevator, and a bottle of Canadian costs about six dollars. Great f--king deal.

it looks like they are still up to their old tricks ... that was my experience and i have not been there in at least four years ... it was one big "HUSTLE" from the front door ($20.00 to get in fast), to getting seats (you had to pay to get a booth) and the BIG BURN ... dances ... if you get one and they tell you it costs $35 (its a PER SONG FEE) ... so try and keep track of time and money on that one.

if you want a total BLING BLING, HIGH ROLLERS night on the town ... its your kind a place ... i think of it as Little Vegas ... right here in va va voom town

When you stop and think about it, what's happening isn't that unusual. Hey, if a guy can't afford the 20 to get in they probably think we don't need him/them. If he wants to stand in line for 30 minutes go right ahead. Once you get in and have a few drinks and see naked women dancing in front of you then you might have the urge to go down to the Swedish Touch and drop another $500. Aren't Brandi's and the S.T. run by the same people ?

Let's face it, if you don't want to stand in line at a popular night club don't you grease the bouncer to get in ? Same idea I guess.

Wow. I have been in Vancouver for three years now. I have been to 2 strip joints... The Cecil and The Penthouse. I have never paid a cover, and I have never stayed in line. (Although this is something I can handle in your lovely winters...or I should my lovely winters.)

I have been asked for cover at a number of clubs, turned around immediately without saying anything only to have the bouncer tell me I can go right in....

After reading this thread, I thought I would stop by this infamous Brandi's on the way home from a gig I played tonight. I play well, smell good and dress oh so casual... (I am not what you would call GQ by any means.) I had my bag with my horns and that was about all they were interested in...checking my bag. I was never asked for any $20.00 cover charge or made to wait in any line. The girls are hot, the drinks are over-priced and the bouncers are dumber than bags of hammers.

After checking my bags, they wanted me to play. I told them I just came from a gig and I was tired...They both offered me $20.00 to play a few notes. Thanks gents....I now make more than you!

Good night all. I miss Toronto and my youthful days of lap dances, touching and all that good stuff. VIP shows had something called dancing. We left these places drunk since we didn't have to mortgage that fourth house, third car and first born child. Ahhh.....What happened to all the boyz fun?
