As someone who will be voting for Scheer and has an extensive scientific background I find your generalisation a bit insulting.
Scheer's speech when he was here sounded a lot like Trudeau. Promising the moon, lots of claims about fixing everything but no details. I am very disappointed in Trudeau and I want to like Scheer, but I'm afraid he will be just as big a disappointment.
There is no viable alternative to the Lib/Tory duo.
I may vote based solely on the riding candidate. With that Morantz creep I won't vote Tory. Fletcher was a jerk sometimes but at least he had a mind of his own and wasn't kissing Harper's ass.

Vote however you want.

in other words, more virtue signalling

security theater

just like taking your shoes off at the airport
Contraband is often hidden in shoes. Explosives have been smuggled onto planes in shoes.

I wouldn't expect it. Deniers can stare into any amount of unassailable scientific facts, and still claim that it's all false because leprechauns read that to them in the bible, or some shit. Anything except facing the truth, that's their motto.

As for what the Earth can survive, yeah, sure, let's take their word for it, and make no effort to survive ourselves. Nope, let's keep on as we are until we hit that mass extinction "reset button" and leave it all to the cockroaches and worms.

They used to say the same about global thermonuclear war; some of them still do.

Wow what a surprise.I respond with a quote and back up my response with facts and then I get insulted and called a "denier" which is really fucked considering the most important fact I stated is that climate on the 3rd rock from the sun has been changing for BILLIONS of years.I am not talking about a few millenia or a few million years I am talking about 5 BILLION years and most definatly not basing EVERYTHING on information from the last 100 years of which there are only 50 years worth that are verifiable and reliable.Yes the Climate is changing and it will continue to do so just as it has.

With regards to nuclear war that is a silly and idiotic talking point. There have been only 2 uses of Atomic bombs in war. Both delivered by the USA to Japan.Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the cities, the USA did not bomb Tokyo because if they did there would not be anyone alive to accept surrender. After the secret of the Atomic Bomb got leaked/stolen and other countries developed it as well as missiles it got to the point of MAD which is Mutually Assured Destruction.Meaning that if you used your nukes the other guy would do the same and your both going to destination FUCKED.

Please refrain from calling me a "denier" hence forth. The climate IS changing and has changed over BILLIONS of years.....nice bit of factual proof of that is the Glacial Erratic southwest of Calgary.Great big ol piece of a mountain that was torn from the land by a Glacier that was most likely 600 feet thick and then when the planet "warmed" and that Glacier receeded it lost the strength to drag that piece of a mountain back and so it got left on what is prairie country now.

You’re right, the climate has always been changing, however the one thing that climate change skeptics cannot or will not explain is the incredible speed of the change we are seeing now. You said it yourself, climate changes happen over millennia. The changes we are seeing now are intense in nature and are happening over centuries or decades. Please explain the unreal speed of the changes we are seeing?

My hope is that politicians begin to adopt long term cooperative strategies rather than look to short term bandages.

That's hardly a comfort and in fact supports climate change alarm. In that 5 billion years, there have been 5 mass extinctions where virtually all life on the planet was wiped out and it started over. This was in some cases attributed to the massive amounts of carbon trapped in the Earth's crust being thoroughly released by seismic activity.

Only, in the modern industrial world, instead of volcanos, it's us extracting the carbon trapped in the rock and burning it. So, how would you not expect the same consequences as "last time" if it continues unabated?

Yes, the Earth will survive, but most life as we know it on it would not.

That is according to the doom sayers and the politicians who feed at the trough and tell us what is "best for us" much like the total destruction of the Amazon Rain forest....but it is still there decades after it's predicted demise due to responsible forestry harvesting.....hey how about that evil hole in the Ozone layer?

According to Al Gore New York city was supposed to be underwater about 14 years ago.According to David Suzuki Canada and indeed all countries that have coastal cities will face catastrophic ocean levels.....yet he owns 4 homes in Vancouver with his principal mansion located at the Capilanno Yacht Club.

Have you even checked out or looked at the sheer HYPOCRACY of the UNIPCC meetings/gatherings?When it was hosted in Morocco in a purpose built non permanent structure it had air conditioning and ALL of the buses used to transport the delegates sat running and burning diesel because heaven forfend none of those people should have to ride back to their luxury hotel rooms in a bus that might take say 10 minutes to cool down on the inside from the desert heat.

All of those thousands of people attending the event and at the same just feeding at the trough.Good example is that Hypocrite Elizabeth May of the Green Party. She did not represent the Government of Canada but she attended and no doubt guzzled down a few bottles of wine and stuffed her face on the tax payer dime and at the same time she flew there on an airplane....oh but she "green washed it" because she bought "carbon off-sets".

I call bullshit on the very mention of "Climate Change" when a country like Canada that produces less than 2% of GHG emissions saddles it's citizens with taxes whilst at the same time Canada's northern boreal forest cleans up 50% of world wide GHG emissions and a country like China is one of the worst emitters can continue to do the same and in fact increase it's output for more than the next decade.

Climate Change and the movement behind it is nothing but a sham and a tax grab on western society.

No, this is according to archeological records. There have been five mass extinctions. There is sedimentary evidence that it is associated with thorough expulsion of carbon.

Yeah, the exact timing hasn't been predicted, but the trend has.
