my backround is graphic design and cd-rom development...
but the last two years of my life have been devoted to becomming a firefighter (i'm almost there !) first aid courses, class 3 license, immaculate physical condition (hard bod)
Not that it means beans, but for a big chunk of my life, including before being legal to work, I was working in restaurants, right from helping the cooks, growing up to become a cook, waitressing as well a managing restaurants here and there.
I did quite well during the early computer and software days, one of the lucky ones (though unlucky at the time) that was awarded shares in lieu of overtime. Those 60 hour weeks (and working weekends) paid off quite well indeed. When I cashed in, it was quite an amazing day.
So now I don't *have* to work, but invest my working money into technology and software development, occasionally consulting or monitoring trends and specialized developments.
