Let the Right one in... Which came out in 2008 but didn't get to this side of the ocean till earlier this year. Or maybe it came out last year? (it's been a pretty sad year so far...)

Otherwise its Star Trek, The Brothers Bloom & Drag Me to Hell...

The best movie have seen this year would have to be The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
I concur. I thought it deserved Best Picture 2008 over "Slum dog Millionaire," even though I thought it was an excellent film as well.

Although, I also thought "There Will Be Blood" deserved Best Picture 2007 over "No Country for Old Men." I guess I really don't understand the Academy's criteria for that category. Politics is the likely criteria, as opposed to talent. Maybe it's a good thing that for 2009, there will be 10 movies to choose from...or maybe not.

Pretty much all crap!

I've watched a bunch of movies this year and truthfully, they all seem like a waste of time and money...

The new Jonny Depp film looks decent and I haven't seen Angels and Demons yet.

I haven't seen Watchmen but I plan to buy it on DVD when it comes out on July 21.
I thought the movie was good, but not great. My favorite things about it were the nostalgic views of the original costumed vigilantes, and Rorschach. Rorschach is just cool.

I've enjoyed Grand Torino, Taken, The Bucket List, Benjamin Buttons and a really odd movie that was great, Seven Pounds with Will Smith. That was one I didn't figure out at all....slow build up to a great ending.
I enjoyed Gran Torino, even though it was a bit cheesy at the end. Seven Pounds however, was another recent great. Subtle, very subtle but at the same time very powerful and moving.
