This is off my normal mindset but I decided to throw it out there.Boring Turkey dinner perhaps?Maybe a bone in Ham?Do you go off the scale and cook up a wicked crusted rack of lamb?

For me I am going off the charts with regards to Thanksgiving and I am going to make Porchetta....got a nice bit of pork belly that the butcher butterflied....gonna stuff it with a shitload of freshly chopped herbs as well as seasonings and perhaps a layer of salami and capicollo and crushed garlic...roll that fucker up and tied it off and roast it at 500 for the time it takes for a young hot Asian gal works you all fine at an AMP (30 minutes) and then slow cook it for 3 hours at 325.

Real fine eating....gotta figure out the sides of course....rosemary/garlic roasted baby potatoes seem good as well as hot steamed green beans drizzeled with butter.

Just throwing it out there...turkey gets boring year after year.

Yum Porchetta! Sounds like a delicious choice with some capicollo.

I just bought the ham and an other family member is making the turkey. Think the veggies will be the traditional turnips and yams etc.. The one and only holiday of the year my family becomes truly Canadianized. Will have some wine to make up for it lol.

Ham and potato roasted on an open campfire....friends , dogs, and kids gathered round the fire, avoiding the smoke, and picking ash out of our strong drinks in our hands, watch the sunset to end the day.

It's a good life......

A turkey, a ham...and the usual fixings I guess. Only thing out of wack...I got six women coming over, three related, three not....and I'm doing all the damn cooking. Wife is in Gagetown so she's not going to be a lot of help.

Turkey roast, pork roast, sloppy gooey ribs, mash potato with gravy, Cesar salad, green salad, bowl of rice (just because have to) pumpkin and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Red wine, white wine, shots of crown to finish the evening. Think thats about it.

Varies now
Park the combines for a few minutes. Give thanks again for a wonderful harvest. Share a full turkey dinner on the tailgate with the crew and family.

Don't know. Plans changed suddenly and we have to be away from home. Wife is looking for a nice restaurant to have a TG dinner.

I will put a frozen pizza in the oven. Oh what a treat! I can hardly wait for 5pm to roll around. I might even splurge and go for a pumpkin spice latte and muffin afterwards.

so how did it turn out? any sloppy gooey ribs left over.......

I ended up going with marinated greek roast lamb with greek lemon potatoes and the regular hummus, pita bread, olives, grilled peppers, dolmades, on a massive serving tray sort of antipasto style.

lamb was done on the bbq rottiserie with the roast dripping the marinade and fat down on a tray with the potatoes roasting in it,

will have to try the porchetta another time when my butcher has a full pork belly in the cooler

Turned out great, thanks for asking. Eve, Mia, Kathy, Fey, Laura, Becky in attendance along with some family and vanilla friends and George the frenchie. I am guessing the food was good because I was surprised with the lack of leftovers, many lbs of food was almost completely eaten lol. about 10 bottles of wine consumed then was off to the vodka, fireball and tequila and the inevitable karaoke that always comes during a Filipino party.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sidenote, Eve has expressed wanting to have a Halloween party. No details yet but guess it would be simlar to the party we had 2 years ago. I have seen a few people over the last year ask about it, not sure how much interest there would be.
