I know the difference between an agency and a mp, but ( not to sound ignorant ) but can someone tell me the difference between micro and agency , or what a micro is ?

Micro (extremely small), would be most places that advertise on LL and operate out of residential buildings without a business license.
I don't think any "independents" have a business licence for this line of work either.
Anyway, on Perb "micros" seems to be reserved for Asians in condos/apartments, whereas people call non-Asians with the same MO "incalls" or "agencies." No, I don't have an explanation for this.
Micro is short for microbrothel.
The microbrothels in the Vancouver area are usually Asian. They generally open late in the afternoon and close late. It's best to call in advance to book some time.

In the San Francisco Bay area they are known as AAMPs - Asian Apartment Massage Parlors.

yeah micro and agency are basically the same thing, and there is nothing inherently risky about them. just some of them are shady and less reputable than others. that just comes with the industry. AMP's have that issue too
