While reading another thread where a pooner recounts going through a CL SP's purse (or possibly a con artist's purse) to retrieve his payment after she didn't supply condoms and blamed him for it, I started to wonder what inspires one to TOFFT. His first risk wasn't his choice to forcibly retrieve his money, but rather his choice to call a random a woman with no reviews and no established credibility. Although I understand that TOFFTing is necessary for new girls to break into the business, it strikes me as an impulsive, high risk activity that requires a personality type, perhaps similar to that of a gambler (and not that of the calculating professional gambler type). The only circumstance under which I would TOFFT would be if a well-established SP that I really liked vouched for a new girl. I guess I sort of TOFFT'd when I accepted a date with the girls that the Carmen Fox receptionist recommended, but that's not quite the same, as that particular receptionist had previously sent me girls who I liked. Never, however, would I respond to a Craigslist or Backpage ad of a girl who I knew nothing about, much less pick up an SW, especially when Vancouver has numerous well-reviewed women to choose from. I'm wondering if one gets a certain rush of adrenaline when contacting a girl who could potentially be either a great experience or an epic disaster. Or is that not it at all? I don't have any well-developed conclusions regarding the subject, but I am curious as to what motivates one to take such a risk. Thoughts?
