Hi athaire

I can certainly give a few recommendations for working girls. There is a lot people can do to reduce their chances of catching/passing the flu. These recommendations can also apply to anyone.

If you are sick.

You would expect to get symptoms similar to the regular human seasonal influenza. Such as high fever, cough, headache, general aches, fatigue, eye pain, shortness of breath, and lack of appetite.

  1. It is important that you stay home from work if you are sick, even if you have not traveled anywhere e.g. to Mexico.
  2. Limit contact with others.
  3. See a health care provider if your symptoms become worse but call ahead to let them know you have fever or cough illness.
  4. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. When you cough, do so into your sleeve if possible
  5. Wash your hands often with soap and water or a hand sanitizer, especially after you cough or sneeze.

Other prevention information:

  • Influenza and other respiratory infections are transmitted from person to person via the respiratory route. Coughs and sneezes release the germs into the air where they can be breathed in by others.
  • The germs also rest on hard surfaces like counters and doorknobs, where they can be picked up on hands and transmitted to the respiratory system when someone touches their mouth and/or nose. Cleaning these surfaces would be good.
  • Washing your hands often, is the most important thing that you can do to prevent these infections. You can use soap and water or a hand sanitizer.
  • Informing clients that if they are sick to rebook appointments.
