It's a reflection of the times, Winterman. As the pooner demand drops, the supply of Sweet Young Things follows. Business is off all over. SU and CCE also report a drop in calls.

Don't forget - they're conservatives! So, they don't really want to end prostitution - they just want to make money off of it. So, whenever there's a piece of Conservative legislation such as this - there will ALWAYS be a loophole for businesses.

In this case, pornography is perfectly legal. If you buy pussy - 5 years in jail. If you buy pussy and film/sell it - perfectly legal.

Conservatives should be ashamed of themselves for hypocrisy of this kind of magnitude...

I am not saying I agree with it all, just saying what the Bill is 'supposed' to accomplish.
I'd much rather see a system in place like they have in The Netherlands where prostitutes are registered
medically screened, etc. I grew up in Amsterdam; seen it all. It does seem to work better than our lousy system.

I've been saying the same thing for a while. Do you require a license to make porn? If so we should all apply for licenses, the girls could all advertise as actresses.

I can assure you that there is nothing out of the ordinary or wrong at VIPS -
My experience of the last 15 years in this biz has taught me that things get bigger and
smaller - they come and go, and come again ;) Its just the natural progression of this biz.

its funny we had the EXACT same thread about VIPS to this effect a few years ago...
nothing was the matter then - just as its business as normal now. Of course since
the last time people were worried about what was the matter we have sponsored and
supported many TOP level and loved VIPS and racked up an large amount of reviews
and fulfilled many fantasies and created happy memories in the process. Its what we do
and we do it well - and will keep doing it for a LONG time to come ;)

Yes we lost a few girls in a row this past week and yes it hurts when that happens all at once-

Long time VIPS Katie and Kelli Retired at the end of last year
Rachel - Left for medical reasons this month
Brandy - Is leaving for another out of province job this week
(much like she did a year ago, and she just might come back again)

I also had another girl be let go for stealing $1000 - but I wont say who.

We have also added 2 NEW drop dead gorgeous ladies like London & Milan and
continue to sponsor touring lovelies like Mila and our newest Elle (here for 2 weeks!)

I will not deny that the new legislation scared ALOT of people - and that sucked
Every week leading up to DEC.5, 2014 many clients called with questions and concerns about ... whats this mean for the industry.
As many of our valued clients then were told - and Ill say now publicly - THE NEW BILL MEANS BUPKISS for the day to day of our industry.

There are MANY laws, but not all of them can be enforced - every city (and its VOTERS) determine where their police force budget should be spent
(ie should we be cracking down on Drunk Drivers, B&E's, Drug Dealers, etc etc etc) Victoria mayor's office and police have said publicly that
they have no intention of enforcing this new bill : http://www.parl.gc.ca/Content/SEN/Committee/412/lcjc/Briefs/C-36/C-36_brief_City_of_Victoria_E.pdf

Sgt. Kristi Ross, of the Victoria police special victims unit is quoted "The police do not focus on prostitution-related arrests,
If there is violence involving a sex worker, that is assault and that is our main concern.” Ross also said brothels and sex workers
will not be targeted. Online investigations will continue to look for evidence of human trafficking and exploitation of underage persons.

Same as many other cities across Canada ....
https://nowtoronto.com/news/features/are-cops-turning-their-backs-on-feds-new-hooker-law/

IMHO - the new bill is not much different then the old bill - UNLESS you are frequenting under-age sex workers, or ladies who are coerced,
forced or human trafficked. - Then ya the new bill has teeth to slam those types of people. If you are visiting a licensed location with legal age
and licensed escorts, who are doing this work of their own decision, not for use of drugs, and are healthy, smart and intelligent women who have
chosen this profession of their own free will - you really dont have anything to worry about because of the new bill -
at least in Victoria and as long as the voter mob dosnt demand some sort of action by their elected politicians...

Anyhow - as always we are doing just fine at VIPS and I have always said, I would much rather work with a FEW of the best ladies,
then ALOT of so-so ladies and we have always been known for quality over quantity. Our mission has been to connect with our clients
and keep you coming back again and again - so yes its sad when girls move on or retire, but as Ive said above, and we have seen before,
sometimes they come back, and sometimes from the tears their departures have left, new flowers bloom and new fantasies come alive...

- and if you wish to support some of the cities best service providers in a safe clean environment - you know where to find us ;)

xoxo - ms.Harvi
ps- sorry for any confusion posting under my TNA handle I cant seem to find my log in for VIPS

I think this may be the case as well. And my apologies in advance for talking like an economist, but if indeed disposable income is decreasing, the demand curve should be shifting to the left which should also result in lower prices. Girls? What do you think? :)

That would still depend on the elasticity of demand.

Glad to hear things are going well Harvi.

Actually no. Even if demand was perfectly inelastic, it would require that the sellers be price takers (had no control over price). That is the perfect competition model but that structure requires that there be a very large number of firms selling a standardized product. Therefore it does not apply to this industry. In any other market structure, regardless of price elasticity of demand, a shift to the left of the demand curve results in lower prices.

Unfortunately the facts seem to disagree with you as the apparent the shift to the left in demand has NOT resulted in lower prices and in fact independent lady pricing has gone up. If you still think it will happen I would love to bet you that agencies won't be lowering their rates as I don't recall that they have ever reduced rates in times of lower demand. What likely will happen is that those unable to sell their services at the rate set by the agencies will leave the industry. This represents a reduction in supply in response to shifts in demand rather than a lowering of price. Lowering their rates and going independent is unlikely to be a winning business model.

Depends if you were to look at prices in nominal or real terms. In real terms rates have gone down as inflation eroded the buying power of the rate. Rates here in Victoria have remained at around $200/hour for the past few years. There are some $300 providers and Asian micros at $120, but if a visiting pooner were to ask I say around $200/hour for a good provider. This also probably reflects what the market here in Victoria is willing to pay. Every market is different. Rates in Alberta average about 30% more for same service whereas in Vancouver rates are more in the $250 range but usually include BBBJ. Since that is an extra in Victoria and is usually an extra $100, a better deal if you go for that. Toronto is roughly same as Vancouver, perhaps a bit higher. Alberta rates demonstrate that if the market is willing rates will go in a classic Adam Smith supply vs demand curve. That fact rates have remained stable here in Victoria I would say shows that demand is keeping the rates in check and would echo the comments about reduced or flat demand right now. Also to point, there is SP's in Victoria that seem to have plenty of business at $300, but again extras at the agencies are generally included in that rate and their reputation of good service allows for the higher rate much like the iPhone.

There is also reward programs for loyal and good clients - something we at VIPS have always been about REWARDING good clients -
(glory hole cards offer $100 and $200 discounts, C-NOTES and glory hole combo makes our HOUR rate as low as $176 - the LOWEST in City)

When I hire new girls I explain the client pie - lets say victoria is 100% of the pie - there will be a % of clients that we just dont want
*(guys just looking for 3 wet holes and have no respect for the person they are sharing a fantasy experience with, drunks, druggies, overly aggressive etc)
There will also be a % of clients who are just looking for the lowest rate possible - regardless of service - not that there is anything wrong with that,
its just not what WE DO. Our approach is to treat every client with respect, to NOT take a call unless they can provide 110% and to take pride in
the level of service provided. The girls we have chosen to work with have constantly been reviewed as some of the cities best service providers,
they truly enjoy making connections with their clients and building regulars.
As any first year business major will tell you - its easier to KEEP a client then it is to MAKE a new client....

As for rates and all inclusive rates and what the market will bare - yes its different all across the country, I know this first hand being I work
with touring ladies from BC, ALB, SASK, MANT. - and MANY of the ladies I work with come from Montreal, Toronto, etc.
I've always said it would be nice if the rates were consistent across Canada - but hey I also wish I didn't live in a city with one of the highest
gas rates either, but on the other side of the coin - I wouldn't want to live anywhere else ;)

Prices in this business rarely drops (unless of course is dramatic increase of supply) BUT the services provided should increase when the demand is lower. 140-160/hh is standard across the country. In Toronto ,Ottawa, or Montreal you get bbbj included in standard price, for 20-40 tip you'll get cim and often swallow as well. In Victoria, a tip is essentially double price for just one service. Once, I asked sp for bbbj/cim/sw, I needed the calculator to add all numbers to the astronomical amount. No wonder that in Toronto business is booming and you need to book good SPs on line a day before.

That could have something to do with the fact that TO is a much larger city[1] filled with a higher average income[2] than Victoria.

[1] - http://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-r...-fst/pd-pl/Table-Tableau.cfm?T=205&S=3&RPP=50 , about 5M people in TO compared to about 340K in Victoria.
