Someone objected to it. It seems that when someone--anyone--objects to a post for ANY reason, it is removed.

Wtf

What . is that a bout .. we can talk about .. sex .. cocks .. pussies... tits .. whores..and..C*** ( maybe not that one)... and we can't post about the most natural thing.. a women having a period.. If a person is reading this board .. and posting on here .. why would they object to that.. and not everything else posted here ... If that is the way it works .. This board and most ,if not all of its post could be wiped out . in one day... I guess if i don't keep my mouth shut .. some one could object to every post I ever made .. and i would be gone ... Never existed:eek:
Isn't there some criteria .. as to what to keep and what to delete?

jjinvan - Suspended 7 days for dishing out very questionable medical advice. Please do not do this on PERB. We've received contradictory evidence and unless you are prepared to prove you are a medical doctor, please do not do it again.
might be related to this. "very questionable medical advice" = thread gone

I would understand deleting the post that was breaching those guidelines .. but everything that was talked about .. I know they don't have to explain them selves .. that is .....
But censorship .. of any kind scares me .. Part of the reason i am here is because of what i thought was as free and open forum for discussion on what is considered taboo in society.... and with out having to worry about the judgemental attitude.. because we are all the same here .. a bunch of F***ers

Perhaps the person who started the thread deleted her first post. That would kill the whole thread.

There are a lot of threads that vanish. In the relatively short time I have been here I have noticed about 10 that I was interested in that just disappeared from one log in to the next. However, so what? The moderating team I guess figured that that horse had been beat or someone felt something was in there that really bothered them. Personally, and to avoid the penalty box that is here I will preface it to say this is only an opinion and I am not questioning the moderation here as the moderation here appears to be well done, I would let all threads stay but lock them down if they started to get off track. However, as I am not moderating this board, my opinion on the matter means Jack Shit.

I will say that I am often VERY curious what post broke the camels back on these things though. You follow a topic for a few days and then all of a sudden it is gone. I wonder "what actually was the thing that killed this?". One of life's mysteries but I sure don't lose sleep over it. Also, questioning it specifically only pisses people off who have the responsibility for making those calls. As a sometimes moderator on an unrelated topic board, I can assure you pissing off moderators is not the road to longevity on a posting board!

Personally, I'm a little surprised that this thread disappeared. Whether or not jjinvan is a doctor is irrelevant. He provided a reasonable argument about a very common practice that millions of women have been following for years, (with their doctors' knowledge and blessings). He included links to research that supported his views.

Unfortunately, somebody objected to his posting and made a number of unfounded accusations towards jjinvan and then completely denounced his argument without providing any evidence to the contrary.

Notwithstanding some of the mud-slinging that ensued, I don't see why controversial medical opinions can not be discussed on this board. We are all adults, and as such should be capable of critically evaluating the information that we receive. I don't think any of the women here would have gone off and made an important health decision based solely on information acquired from an online escort review board; rather, we would have used it as a springboard for our own research, which would have ultimately included speaking to our own family doctors.

I GET PO also

But not in this case . i am just asking .. and making a comment ..
Like I said i believe in free and open discussion.. Meany of the .. flamings and shit that goes on here to get people banned.. really have never bothered me ..
If I don't like it I don't read it .. But for those that want to rag away .. i all way figured they wanted to be there .
When it just gets to be plain personal attacks . sure kick there ass out of here . ..When a person as anonymity .. they try shit that they would not do in real life.. Maybe we should all remember some one knows where we live.. and who we are.. any escort that you have seen ..

I would rather

have seen the post remain .. then this discussion on why it is gone.
if any thing .. we can learn from history ... when you try to ban something that is objectionable to.. it just gets stronger and more controversial.. UFOs .. is one example .. . looks like PMS is another.

Peeved as well

Hi All,

I started the read as I thought it was worth discussing given that it relates to both issues of availability, pricing relative to services, possible disease issues (blood = higher chance of blood borne disease transmission that normal vaginal secretions), and also because the reality is that both SPs (mostly reproductively viable females) and pooners have to deal with it.

I too believe JJ is a doctor though I don't know that I've ever heard him come right out and say as much. Everything he's posted on the thread is easily accessible from numerous VERY reliable online medical sources. And his detractor failed to post anything to contra-indicate his advice.

I highly doubt any source she quotes will say anything medically valid that contra-indicates what he says. Like any heated topics there are numerous "experts" who weigh in on the subject and prattle on about what they "think" might "possibly" be a consequence of long term use, etc etc. without providing an sound medical facts or research. Saying "I have a theory about possible consequences" does not medical research make, when there is no science behind it.

There are risks to taking the pill. They are well documented, and JJ listed them. Everything I have heard indicates that the risk of continued pill use has exactly the same level of risk as taking them on the traditional 21/7 day cycle.

Feminists have be "reclaiming" periods and saying that to eliminate them is a form of misogyny and all about "the man" trying to keep women down and flooded with feelings of shame about their bodies. As a woman, who is also feminist, I think this is an utterly preposterous notion. And the source of the argument is highly questionable as there is more of a political agenda behind it than medical fact.

I don't want some cantankerous peri-menopausal earth mother in a vulva medallion telling me or my doctor what I can do with my body, based on no medical evidence other than a notion or "possibility" that flies in the face of well documented, decades of research.

Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be participating in this board beyond advertising. This is just getting silly.

Isabelle

PS - I didn't delete the first post in the thread. thereby deleting everything after that. I DID delete the first posting in the first thread I started because I forgot to fill in the poll, then I created the 2nd thread, which is the thread in question.

Why, because this is the new perb, run by the osgoode school of forum rules. Just like everything in Canada, the people in Toronto think they know better then anyone how to run things. All you need to look at is the maple lafts to see how well it works. Perb will be just as boring as the leafs if the coach doesn't soon wake up and sniff the pussy

Well I wouldn't worry about being a moderator here as your probably to "active a pooner" to be considered. But your right one must really watch what they say or do.........

LOL! I am sure that would be only one of many considerations! Judging by the warm welcome I get from some paying the advertising here, I can say that the likelihood of me being approached to moderate this board too is up there with me sending Classy Angel my credit information!

I believe he was challenged (by she) on the merits of, or lack of, long-term studies to substantiate his position.

Probably – but commentary emanating from a purported medical practitioner carries its own influence… perhaps baggage.

Given that JJ backed his advice up with references to relatively mainstream sources, I have to think that this is an overreaction on Sheik's part. I have no doubt at all that someone else overreacted but given some past history, I may be biased in that regard. I too read an article in the papers recently, about low dosage contraceptives on a steady basis. The opinion stated was that this should prove to be healthier for women on many levels but that little research had yet been completed.

Good luck on this issue Isabelle and thank you for your candor. WS.
