I'm starting to realize video games are my favourite thing to do and it's less that I have fun doing them and more that it's easy/low-risk. My friends are mostly the same. For those of you that have hobbies, what are they? How'd you find it?

just to start it off with what I can, I do like swimming. always loved being in the water but finally took basic lessons last year and now I'm not afraid to be in the deep end at least.

Video games, but they are taking over space on my computer. Hiking, museums, reading, and films.

yeah I love me a good film but haven't watched anything really good recently...

I'll probably try more outdoorsy stuff next summer (maybe kayaking, loved that the few times I did it), did some cycling this summer but wasted most of it indoors :(

Lots of outdoors stuff but in the winter it’s pool. I’ve played since I was a kid. I’m ok but not great, but it’s more a social thing than video games. Getting out into the real world and shooting the shit with the boys over a couple of beers is a good way to unwind.

Look left. Way left.

More physically active things are good for your body and brain.

If you like water, kayaking is great. Take a course to gain some confidence. I did that 35 years ago and never looked back. I started in a kayak and realized I preferred the sit on top like they have in resorts. I've backed off a bit in recent years because of shoulder issues but I get out a few times in the summer wen the weather is good.
I've also done a lot of white water rafting up to level 5 crazy shit. Work your way up and see if you enjoy it.

Walking is great exercise and helps clear your brain. This can lead to hiking as well. Got to the level of doing the some of the more difficult ones. Nowadays I do the Coquitlam crunch or just parts of it depending on my energy and mood at the time.

I've been involved in book clubs that I quite enjoyed because of the variety of people's views of the books. It can also be a way of meeting more celibral and intelligent people.

There's so much out there to see and do.

I'm more of an introvert but doing things you enjoy with others is a wonderful thing!

I'm definitely gonna look into joining a book club. I used to read more years ago but having people to talk about it with would definitely make it easier to pick up again.

yeah there's a lot of hiking trails around vancouver, seems like a favourite pasttime of the city.

I really like sports cars and motorsports. I've always liked cars. When I bought my first sports car that was way more capable than could be safely used on the street taking it to a track was the most logical thing to do. I absolutely love it.

Travelling is also one of my favourite things. This is newer to me, I didn't really travel until I met my ex. Now I travel as often as I can, luckily I have a job that allows me to pretty often .

As a huge geek I also really enjoy video games and dnd.

I exercise almost daily for an hour. I have a muscle car from the 80's I fix and drive, and a sports car from the 60's I fix and drive. I go shooting at the firing range regularly, and am a private pilot, so I go up about once or twice a month. I guess photography, too, but I mostly just lie around and make sure I get enough sleep after work. Sometimes I'll take some golfing lessons and go to the driving range.

I’m into yoga, salsa & jive, mma hiit classes and heavy resistance training to bomb music. For more sedentary hobbies: writing, learning Spanish, photography, chess, decorating my home to be more aesthetic and zen. :)

Might I recommend changing your gaming area a bit and incorporating one highly active hobby and one medium? Video games is a great community building online activity, so I wouldn’t necessarily say to not play so often if that’s part of what you get from it.
