I know there are many beliefs , for what ever reason we believe different things to be true , or they are what we are willing to follow after because it just turns our crank or strokes our egotistical persona .. Weather it is a religion , a faith , a health regiment .. or just how we see those around us and how we see are selves .. They are all beliefs that mold us and determond how we interact in this world and with others .. But do we use them as a cop out on not taking responsibility for the future of this planet .

I personally believe in life after death .. and that i have a chose to come back and start a new live .. We all ways say .. the problem of this world will be pasted on to our children .. " Thank god i won't be here " Well I guess with what i believe ..then i will be one of the future children and any mess that i have caused I will be the inheritor of it .and i know i have not done the best in looking after things on this planet .

And it is not just the environmental things that count , economists , health . and just plane looking after our fellow man .. If you are well off to today in this life .. why do you think you will be so well off in the next .. Because you have drive and opportunity today will it be there the next time around In some ways i think it may be ,, and you may start fro scratch or be born in to money that is hard to say .. but what you do to day may effect how you live your next live .. and i am not just talking karma .

Now there are many who don't believe in life after death , or that they will go to heaven or hell .. just another cop out .. if you say your hail mary;s and ask god's forgiveness then you will be free of every thing that you loth about life on earth .. Really ? Live One life , do your best , or screw it up and that is all there is ...Doesn't mean much in the big scam of things .

And i have for gotten how so many of these beliefs have just made us , ignorant , in both senses of the word ,and quit willing to pass the buck on to the next generation to fix the problem .. Now I have to say that i think each generation has done better then the last at least to the point that we know some of our past history .. and there all way is some improvement that takes place .. It seem we do remember some thing of our past lives .. Now there are those that seem to remember the worst and just continue on where they left off ..

It not necessary that you believe this to be true .You may just have one life , You live it and it is gone ,,No consequences and no re precautions .

But wouldn't that be just to simple and unlike the Universe .:cool::confused:

I think i should stop posting my thought of the day ..

Like i thought no one is interested !
To be honest I had a bit of trouble following your post, old maxx50, but I will take a stab at it...

I do not believe in life after death. I am not a religious person, but also I do wonder how we can continually get new souls being born but old souls never go away. It seems like the world, heaven, hell, whatever, would just get really full after a while...

I don't think believing or not believing in life after death should make much of a difference as to whether or not a person feels responsible to take of the environment. That assumes that the person who is reincarnated comes back with the same memories as they had from their previous life, either glad they took care of the planet last time around or regretting the fact that they didn't. Having not personally met anyone with recollections of a previous life, I can only conclude either it does not exist or if it does exist the memories do not carry over from one life to the next.

I think short-sightedness and general unwillingness to plan for the future is a general human trait. If someone is given a choice of taking $1 000 today vs. $2 000 a year from now, I'm pretty sure most would take the $1 000 today. The farther you push back the reward, the bigger it has to be for people to defer that gratification. I suppose religious beliefs could play a part in that, but by and large I think the two are not related.

Just my $0.02 :)

you know, after i say this, some people might think i should be put away.

but what the fuck,

i don,t believe were alone.

i mean at times in my life, i have just felt things known things that i should have no place to know.
i have had recurring dreams, for like years, that i had know idea what they meant.
then i would stop cold, one day just stop, this before me was the exact same picture in my dream,
that dream would dissappear, to be replaced by another dream, and years latter, somthing would happen, and there i was living that dream.

so i surly do believe, but i don't believe at all in religions,
religion is a creation of man, faith is not.
religion is a creation of man to explain these feelings we have but it is still a man made idea philosply, so there for its flawed, no one should follow anything blindly,
take what makes sense to you from religions but move on.

i believe in morality, and right and wrong, in truth. but what is it.

that is why i post so much,
i want to do what is right.
and well life gets real complicated when you get involved with people and you start chasing your desires, and want to do whats right.
its hard.
but i believe people should be treated a certain way and there is a right and a wrong.

not just from a religious stand point.

but there is a guy at work, he is like aggressive fights and argues with every one, thinks he is the only thing or one that matters.
and guess what, friday quitting time, he goes home to an empty house, and sits and drinks. all alone or mostly alone.
whether you believe in relgion or not there is still a right way to treat people and think and behave.

even in this site, you read posts, and this one person wants to fight with some one and go on and rant.
just watch and wait, and at some point he will post, i am so alone, or some thing stupid like that.
or he has kids but never has seen them, something stupid, and well its no surprise.

there is a right or wrong, whether is faith based or not, there is,
and i question that every day in my life what im doing.
and yeah i have fucked up, its hard,
like i said its hard to live and want things and chase them with out fucking up.

and yeah, some people it is a cop out, religion,
they believe so they don't care if they do anything wrong, because they feel there saved, so they don't care.

and there i think some who hide in religion.

and i like your post,

i remember reading a book or a philospher somewhere can't remember who.

but there was one line it.

how society treats, or how an individual treats, the least among them, that is how that person or society should be judged.

so how society treats like prisoners or handicapped or even escorts, says more about the society then anything

the movie scent of women, al pacino

there was a line its easy to be an ass hole.
its much harder to be a nice guy. i think i might be mistaken

but i once sought out and found of sorts an inner peace in solitude its a very serene feeling.

but have people in your life, its hard to find that spot again.
have desires and wants, and try to respect the people in your life and there feelings,
and things get complicated real fast.

its difficult to chase dreams and desires yet know whats right and wrong.
i guess that is why im on this board, to write to explore my thoughts and the thought process, and get feed back if im on the right track
i believe there is a right and wrong, but when you want something, desire something,
like i said things get complicated real fast.
its just alot easier to be an ass hole and not give a fuck

wish i could but its not me
so for me, i want to know when im wrong,
i want to know how to see sps,
yet treat them right.
i want to be told to smarten the fuck up, if im not.

but i find the thought process interesting around this hobby, sexuality, marriage love, spirituality, respect.
and i guess it fascinates me in that i want to do whats right. believe in the simple truth of things, but what is it.
its and endless quest.

Thank Sevenofnine . You all was have some thoughtfulness in your post .. it show you struggle to be a good person like most of us .

I posted about the dream stuff once .. Dreaming dreams of being some where and in a situation and then years later .. you find it unfolding right before your eyes .. I called it the daji vue experience .. It all so made me wounder what is our life? Is the future all ready layed out ?Or do we make the dreams come true ?
Never the less I always find that because i have dreamed so many of the things tat happen later on in my m life .. I find them familiar , and i am prepared to face some of there challenges

I agree. I see some pretty ignorant attitudes from some people regarding sps, and don't believe in letting that pass lol. Justice and humanity are what I believe in, I suppose. More could benefit from not playing into society's attitudes about men who see sps, just sayin. There are a lot who simply support that stereotype the way they speak, treat and behave.

If we are talking theology, here are some of my thoughts/theories.

In terms of religion, I believe that our "gods" are merely beings from other parts of the universe. They may have had a hand in creating the human race through genetic manipulation or they are observing earth and us for various scientific purposes. These beings were perceived as godlike because they could make the things we think of as impossible possible, due to the fact they are infinitely more advanced. Their lifespans may go on for centuries if not millenniums by our time but for them , their lifetime may seem like 80 years to us. Fruit flies live for only a week. Do we know how long that seems to them. Perhaps it feels to them what a lifetime feels to us. The passage of time can be measured but how it's perceived is all relative. I also theorize that earth is like one giant experiment by some group of aliens that may be discontinued one day r perhaps augmented. That seems more believable than some guy in a white beard riding around in the clouds and his evil brother locked in the basement :p

I believe all creatures are energy. After we die, I am still undecided as to whether that energy remains sentient or whether it is absorbed by the universe. I believe in ghosts, having seen them, so that would lend to some intelligence of our energy, but it could also be an interruption of the transfer of that energy to its next stage of development, leaving people in limbo. Whether we come back as other people, still on the fence about that.

As for morality, I believe that good and bad are points of view. I believe in positive and negative energies and at certain points, one must prevail over the other sometimes, to keep the universe in balance. If the scale tips over one way, it must tip back the other eventually, otherwise the whole thing is destroyed. We've all done things that are considered by most to be bad, but I don't believe one person is entirely one or the other. Saints can commit acts of cruelty, tyrants can be merciful. Like Don Draper says, "People do things." It matters most at the end of the day what I think of myself and once something is done I can't go back and undo it. All I can do is try to make the best decisions for me moving forward.

On a personal note, this is my 500th post. I know I'm a little bit behind stalwarts like ITB and Sperminator, but it's a milestone :) .
