Ask anyone who has lived in Socialist countries what that leads to
You mean countries where tax dollars build and maintain public roads?
Where tax dollars build and maintain public schools?
Public hospitals?
Provide clean drinking water to your tap?
Electricity to your house?
Provide pension plans where one can dream of retiring at some point?

Every developed country, and some undeveloped countries, have these socialist policies in effect. And no, society is not going to collapse because of it.

Granted it's been decades since I was a uni student and thus decades since I opened up a Poli Sci textbook, but socialism is merely social ownership, that's all. Socialism is not defined/determined by what a government chooses to spend it's tax dollars on. If you want to get real technical, social ownership refers to the social ownership of "the means of production" - here's a brain twister for you, is a hospital truly a "means of production"??? If not (and it can certainly be argued that it is not) then socialism would dictate that hospitals should not be "owned" by the collective - crazy right!
