Seems like they're on every channel. No matter what interests you ,there's a show for you. Most are completely staged but some are fun to watch. My top 3

#1 Inkmaster Some of the pieces done are jaw-dropping. Im hoping to one day to have an Inkmaster do my next tattoo

#2 Top Chef I always get great ideas from the show. Made one lady Cornish game hen for lunch thanks to the show

#3 Vegas cakes Amazing what these pastry chefs can do , wish I was a fraction as talented as them

Honourable mention Pawn stars / American pickers Cant stand the cast of either show but im always hoping "holy crap I have that item , its worth a lot of $$"

Knight fight I was in the society for creative anacronism for a few years. Kinda neat to see what the weapons actually do. Though most of the combat seems to involve grappling and knocking your opponent over.

I forgot about Forged in fire. I love the 2nd half of the show but im getting tired of seeing knives made over and over again. If the first half was as good as the 2nd half it would be in my top 3

Ther's no such thing as reality TV. As soon as people ar aware cameras are rolling ,they behave completely different.

The Great British Bake Off
The Great Canadian Baking Show

In both cases, very little drama and mostly friendly competition. Most people there seem to be having fun.

In a lot of "reality" shows, the participants behave the way the producers tell them to and say what it is "suggested" they say.

They all have script writers, and not just for the hosts. Participants all know the worse they behave the richer they get.

I only watch Amazing Race for the locations, and I get the cooking shows, but honestly don't understand the appeal of the Kardashian, Hip Hop, Housewives, Bachelor, Gordon Ramsey type shows of scripted fighting and fake scenes.
