I'm coming up to Vancouver BC for the first time - first time in Canada too - and I'd like to play a little bit. But I don't know how things work up there. I've read the pooner's guide, but I don't want to mess up any of the Canadian ground rules.

It's less illegal in Canada than it is in the US, but how careful do I have to be calling a PERB advertiser, also what can't I say to a lady.

What's the best way to ask about Greek/PSE (which I take to mean greek).

Is it any different for the agencies?

Thanks, in advance. I'm looking forward to my trip.

Paying for sex isn't illegal in Canada, so you can be pretty much up front with SP's and ask them their rates and what services they provide. Many of the SP's will list price and menu on their websites.

That is a bit of a generalization but stay away from street walkers and clearly underage and you should be okay in the City of Vancouver.

Ah, my delightful American friend.

Here are the rules:

1. You cannot solicit (i.e. talk about or communicate in any way) about sex for money in public. Public includes your car.

2. You cannot be found in a common bawdy house. A common bawdy house is a place where prostitution, illicit acts (like live sex shows) or other such indecency regularly occurs. If you stay in a hotel room and have a prostitute visit you for sex once, twice, maybe even three times, that is not a common bawdy house. If you stayed for a week and had six girls over every day for that entire week, it probably is a common bawdy house. What exactly the rule here is is unclear and would be determined on a case by case basis. A massage parlour is almost certainly a bawdy house, BUT, only if the police choose to enforce it. After all, if the boys in blue decide it ain't a crime, no criminal prosecutions will follow (rather like the situation of killing streetwalkers, especially aboriginal ones in this country. Yes, Canada has racism problems too... But I digress).

3. You cannot under any circumstances offer money for sex for someone under the age of 18. Period, full stop, no questions asked. If you're a pedo coming to get your jollies in Canada, just STAY THE FUCK OUT ASSHOLE. Go fuck American kids, we have enough pedophiles as it is.

4. There are other laws relating to sex for pay in Canada, but I assume you're not coming here to set up business, just to have fun, so I won't bore you with them.

I would suggest carmanfox.com as a starting place to find some nice ladies in Vancouver. Plenty of other providers in that fair city as well.

Cheer!

Remember, keep the number of girls at your hotel room to a reasonable number. No need to bring the house down on your head.

Basically, in this country, outcall prostitution (i.e. she comes to you at your location, the deal is discussed behind closed doors where there is an expectation of privacy (which includes phone calls, e-mails texts etc.) is perfectly legal. Everything else is in shades of grey but it depends on what the police actually charge and pursue. Heck in my town, the cops explicitly say on their website that massage parlours are legal as long you do not discuss the exchange of money for sex in public (i.e. the door to the room MUST BE CLOSED!!!).

There, a nice short lesson on Canada's prostitution laws. Now, go knock yourself out stud!

And the guy above me who beat me to the punch is correct in all that he states.

Others have already given good advice. As to this particular question, PSE is usually taken to mean that greek is included, but not always. The best way to ask is just to flat out ask up front (although most SP websites specify whether greek is offered anyway, so in those cases there's no need to ask). It's unlikely that the girl will be offended.

Since we're on the topic, can someone get me up to speed on the safest way to provide services in the US?

Seattle, Portland, LA & San Fran.

If I ask for references and/or require them to purchase a couple clips from my store am I fairly safe (of ensuring it's not an undercover cop?)

I probably fall under a gray area since I don't offer the usual sexual services, but strap-on may break some sodomy/penetration laws?

Thanks!

As I understand it, prostitution in any form is illegal in the U.S. except for a very few places. The police will set up stings (including on Craigslist), they will break into your hotel room, you can't even have certain types of sex (e.g. blowjobs) in certain U.S. states in your own home with your wife. In the land of the free and the home of the brave, you have sex (of any sort) at your legal peril. I wish I was joking, but I'm not. The U.S. is very strange in many ways....

Small Pleasures, you may also want to have some sympathy for Mark Emery if you are supplying something to Americans that their freedom loving government doesn't want them to have. This will remain a problem as long as we have a federal government with so little respect for Canadians.

Good Advice and some Info on Providing in the US

First of all, thanks to everyone who replied. I can't wait to come up and play. Don't worry, I only like ladies over 18 and actually lie the 30-40 group the best. That clears it up.

If you're going to provide in the US, just assume that everything you want do is illegal and watch out for stings. Never discuss details over the phone, i.e. money and menu. Strap on play is considered prostitution because it is penetration. Most ladies have disclaimers on their site, and instead of providing a menu they provide a list of what's not on the menu, i.e. greek, birdwatching, CIM, etc.

Your best bet is to avoid CL and go through the boards. Only see a guy who has a few reviews under his belt, good bet that he's neither a cop nor a psycho.

Just use common sense

As others have stated, the actual exchange of sex and money in Canada is completley legal (assuming everybody is of age). However, there are restrictions regulating the industry as mentioned above.

While it is completly legal to disucss details in private (phone, email, and in a private setting together is all considered private), you will still want to be polite and courteous (for social reasons, not legal ones). Most Vancouver escorts are not going to respond in kind to rude or crass requests.

Call the lady of your choice and once you have had a brief and friendly conversation, politely ask if it is alright if you ask a more specific question regarding possible services. As long as you come across as respectful and couretous, you should get all the answers you need.

Have fun!
