Are you asking for permission? Looking for validation? Does it really matter if someone else chooses behavior that's deemed risky/dangerous (not just for the two involved)? Your choice is your own, but if you're seeking an 'atta boy', you'll not get one from me.There must be perb members still seeing there regulars
I am sure there are, but why would you admit it and subject yourself to the kind of admonishment and ridicule that seems inevitable to follow on these boards? Believe in what you believe in, and do what you have to do.Are guys still seeing there regulars.
When this pandemic blew up here, and I saw some ladies still advertising, my initial reaction was "how could she?" Within a few days of that reaction, I came to realize that most of our favorite ladies probably would not get a lot of financial help from the government like a lot of others will. It became a matter of survival, and yes, some are still getting some income from the online stuff, but is that enough? Instead of anger, I started to feel bad for how I initially felt and for the situation the ladies are in.This is a question to get people's opinions (more of a topic for discussion) and not meant to point the finger at anyone or call them out (so don't name names)...
If and when this whole thing is over (whenever that may be), would you see someone that advertised during the pandemic?
I have spoken about this of a few boards now. I was one to stop working before Ontario was put on lock down. I did it some time before March break. When this pandemic blew up here, and I saw some ladies still advertising, my initial reaction was "how could she?" I wish I could help them but the struggle for my financial survival is real and that is part of why my mindset changed.
Amen Jessica! :amen: Love your post, and thank you for your honest message.I have spoken about this of a few boards now. I was one to stop working before Ontario was put on lock down. I did it some time before March break.
Others have not been able to do so and have been shamed for it. I have suggested that ladies change their ads with different pics/names to work during this time, or only see regulars because of possibly post COVID-19 blacklisting.
It can be so hard. I have an online paid site, and you are right, it does not bring in anywhere near what would be needed monthly. I am mostly enjoying creating the content, over getting paid for it.
Some of us, like myself, have other sources of income and savings, but others .... this has now become survival. Which is sad. Then to be shamed for it, because you have to, and you are out there, but men are not equally shamed because they are hidden. I can just imagine the frustration.
And the fear of being out there and having to face that risk.
I have helped two ladies through my site donations. It doesn’t get them to stop working, but it can be a couple less clients needed to be taken.
This, 100 per cent. Thank You, Miss Hunter, for your well-thought-out responses and consistently being a voice of reason. Not all SPs who are currently working are doing so out of desperation. Some are doing it by choice after assessing the data, thinking critically, and proceeding accordingly. And regularly reassessing their decision as more data comes in. And some of us are doing this to PREVENT ourselves from falling into a desperate situation.
#1 rule of sex work, protect your finances. Always aim to keep yourself in a position where you can be extremely selective with the clients you take on.
