I have been trying (and not successfully - Mario, sincere apologies again for your review being hijacked) to figure something out in the Vancouver Review area and I thought perhaps an opinion poll would help. Do negative reviews add value to a review board? Knowing that there is no absolute way to know if ANY review is true or false, do men have enough intelligence to sift through the BS from both overly positive and overly negative reviews?

In one particular instance from about a week ago, a less than good review went *poof*. It may well should have in the final analysis BUT what I didn't like was that it went *poof* before the guy could answer the questions posed of him to prove whether real or fake. Sure, he could have been full of shit and likely was BUT how would anyone ever know now? He may have just had crappy manners and not realized that escorts actually read AND post on an escort review board for men. He could have been the next pcb, photo88, bigdman or other prolific contributer to Perb reviews and he was stopped before he could start. For overly positive or negative reviews, why don't we let the purported BSer answer some questions instead of instant *poofdom* and banishment? (actually, we don' tend to do either to overly positive, but you get the point I am sure).

Anyway, forget the reasons why such a poll is presented. Just look at the simple YES/NO poll and weigh in with your opinion. Unlike the hijacked thread on the Vancouver Review section, please let's keep to the poll questions and avoid ANY form of insults or twisting of words. Thanks adults! :)

Soooo, a poll is presented. Vote away! :)

first off, I voted yes.

But Howie, why do you think the review in question went *poof*?

I don't think I saw it (can't recall it anyway), but I assume it disappeared because the mod decided it was false or because it was insulting. Not because it was negative.

IMO this is a review board first and everything else second. If who ever is, or isn't doing it, wipes out the bad reviews then it's still somewhat accomplishing the same thing.

There might be many that just look at all these revies and only go with the sure thing, so if a bad review is deleted and not even there to be read, then that girl won't even be considered as if the negative review was left up any ways.

im·par·tial - not favoring one more than another; treating all alike; unprejudiced; unbiased; disinterested; equitable; fair; just

Sorry guys, but the ideal of an impartial review cannot exist. The guy writing it, regardless of his eloquence, verve, or enthusiasm cannot be unbiased or uninterested. He can make an appointment with a ***** girl, who provides a wonderful time, but if it doesn’t click for him, he is not likely to repeat. A dozen guys can have the same experience and have wildly different reports.

The fun in reading reviews is reading “the facts” and interpreting them. “She was 20 min late” The reporter reports the time. “The pics did not do her justice” The reporter makes a subjective call. “She must have been having a bad day” The reporter imprints his feelings on the situation. Maybe she’s having a bad day, maybe she doesn’t like you.

Telling me about your experience is of value to me. Telling me what you think about someone you haven’t seen just wastes bandwidth. Name-calling is, well, for another forum, perhaps, but of little value here. I thought this forum was for sharing experiences and to give direction to the newbies. The only direction the newcomers can take from this board lately is that there is a lot more administrative work for the mods than there is biz for the girls.

And I really doubt that to be the reality :D

i was stated as composing confusing posts in my own personal language therefore i must be "pepsi'd" out...oh oops that was "cola'd" out...i am believing this post has some unsuspecting sp busted for being human and not click with someone and slandered bc of it. am i ass-u-me-ing!! too much?? just a thought...in this world i know that not everyone i may VISIT is going to ease into a workable groove with me, silly me, ass-u-me-d all thought the same of all peeps they VISIT. i'd like to point out that all who are faceless and call us who risk our personal space and reputations don't always feel at ease with your grooves either. works both ways especially if u expect to be treated as u feel u should if u give off a disagreeable vibe, then!!!! hmmm...sometimes it's there sometimes it not..doesn't make either participant in this meeting deserving of an unnecessarily hurtful and disrespectful review. u don't know this person to have rights to falsly lead others to believe they are not worthy peeps bc u didn't click. i think a tasteful "this just didn't work for me personally or may have been a bad time that didn't work for me" is sufficient or nothing at all. thoughtless and ignorant public and reputation destroying slanders r dangerously harmful especially since it is known knowledge on THIS PARTICULAR PLANET "WE" PLAY ON!!!! is pointless to post since u have no real 110% knowledge of WHO this person really is in the other 99+% of their lives, or what happens on their personal paths that u have not personally witness!!!! i feel, it's fair to report someone dumbbummed and disrepectful enough to hurt and victimize u on purpose to ensure that all r warned to take care and not let it happen to them...it's a reflection on U and U alone on HOW u choose to publicize YOUR views!!!
<smirking> but what do I KNOW since i found out i'm always coked out!!!! (i can only smile without care to seriously acknowledge such earned and experienced "personal" and "factually" based statements from such an assumed close and familiar um...person in my life. WHO KNEW AND WHY AM I ALWAYS THE LAST TO KNOW!!!!!??? hee hee...ok i wasn't paying attention..how many demerits do i get ..or is this where i get banned if i'm not already!!! how do u spell facetious??? is that right???? i guess i really am on a different planet!!! so much knowledge i can't remember how to spell!!!
take care all and have a great day....all r worth it
no drama please...this was just MY opinion which i thought i was allowed to express...if read with real interest u will realize i am not trying to be cruel or rude...just my views which are a positive defense for the innocent victims of unnecessary damaging and bitter attacks of the pathetic.
xo...azen

Everyone here (both pooners and SPs like) need to learn one very important acronym:

YMMV

Study it, learn it. Allow it to be branded into your psyche.
Then accept it and move on.

That said, this board provides an invaluable service. It allows us to share info on which SPs are top-notch and which ones are ripoffs. And none of this should be influenced by the SPs who post here nor their regulars. That should also apply to the modding and administering of this board.

Guys, keep the praises and the criticisms respectful.
SPs, accept the praises and criticisms, and improve and learn from them.
This is an adult board, so be adults about this, K?

WOW. This is best summary to date. Wolverine, you are sharper than your claws! :D It is that "influence" that is a concern. That and the acting like adults where different ideas and concepts (including perceptions) can be respected if not fully appreciated.

I'm just a phone lady, not a sp or a client, but I use the posts to steer clients in the right direction. when I see a review on one of our girls I always point it out to them, good bad or in between they need to know, to improve what works and drop what doesn't. However when reading these I always take a grain of salt along, YMMV indeed. Ladies can be sweet as apple pie or not, depending on the day, their own personal concerns and the last (or current) jerk trying to pay less money??? or push their limits etc... post respectful negative reviews and let the readers sort it out. Respectful might the key word there though... Allison

Ezsmile - I'm not sure and perhaps neither is the mod

Ezsmile - that review was just being used as an example and as it was the most recent, seemed best to use. However, your point is not entirely correct as Mod himself said "not sure why it went *poof*" in a follow up thread so that mystery still remains.

The vote seem overwhelming. To be fair, it would be interesting to hear from a NO voter. I am curious why they would think we are incapable of rooting out good and bad for ourselves. You have the floor..........

I guess the old adage applies: Caveat Emptor! Buyer Beware! The buyer here being the SP.

What about the buyer being the guy? One session with a Selena, Samantha or others is WAY more than months and months of advertising and can be an experience that will haunt dreams and torment waking hours.

What abou that "spin"?

To me this whole issue seems so simple but it is continually debated on. To me, I know (with a small degree of error) who the better sp's are. The reviews are 99% favorable and if I do see a bad one it's probably fake or someone that went in expecting something that wasn't available in the first place (hence YMMV). The ladies are not machines so every session is not identical to the previous one. Maybe the sp digs a guy with tattoos or piercings, or someone with dark hair, or someone that brings her gifts, or someone that she sees very regularly. The service will not be exactly the same for everyone.

However, the better sp's do have a consistency to their service no matter who the client is, which is why the better ones have so many good reviews. The really, really good ones love what they do and are in it for the long haul, not to just make some quick cash for school, bills, etc.

I am making a point and here it is: for the ladies; if you are providing an excellent service at fair market price (200 -250/hr) you will do well and should not worry about the occasional suspicious/fake/poor review because the positive reviews will easily outweigh the bad. I know if I see a poor review on Avarice, Meaghan, LisaG, Shari, ~A~, GinaLee, that it would not affect my willingness to see them because they are established and have soooooooo many glowing reviews that outweigh the very occasional not so positive ones. Actually, for some of those listed above I don't know that a poor review does exist fot them. I should include Paige in that list as well. She has MANY excellent reviews, so one or two non-positive reviews should not affect regular or prospective customers. Attention is drawn though, when the review is scrutinized and debated back and forth. Everybody loves controversy, it's juicier, more exciting. It doesn't affect my decision on wether or not to see a lady, unless it is someone new who has never been reviewed before, then I might be a little more cautious.

For the men; reviews are valuable and should stand, positive or negative. We need to be completely objective and take into consideration all factors regarding the session. If it truly was poor then say so. If it was fantastic ... say so. Leave it to the Mod to decide what is fair and what isn't.

BTW, I saw Paige about 1 1/2 yrs. ago and she was awesome. The comments about her looks and service in a previous thread were harsh in my opinion and I think most here know that.

Is this a consensus?

Is >95% with nearly 1000 views as close to a consensus as Perbites can get? Is this a motion from the floor?

Re: Review Bullies.

Hmmmm, interesting term "review bullies". I DON'T want this to individualize anyone or mud sling but the example you use is a good one. At 70 votes, with 68 for, this is as unified and strong a response as is ever likely to be heard on Perb. Soooo, it would be great if no more *poof*. Lockdowns are clearly sometimes needed when things get out of hand but leaving reviews up is main value of this board to MANY if not MOST.

Interesting poll results. I was expecting more No votes, to be honest, given how quickly and dramatically some things either prune or poof. It would be good to hear from at least some of the No voters (one of them?) to help the rest of the crew understand that perspective.
