Humanely removed a Raccoon Mom and 2 of her kits, lucky it wasn't in the attic.

Recently Raccoon proofed my garbage bins, I see scratch marks on the bins but they haven't gotten into them.

Haven't seen them or heard of them since :) and hope it is for good!!!

Good advice....I leaned a unopened 70 pound bag of dog food against the wall on my outside porch, and went out to feed my stock.
I was on the tractor moving round bales ,when I saw a bear walking through my hayfield....with the entire bag in his mouth as he vanished into the timber.
Could you stick to dogs and cats for pet ? You make us feel inadequate if you start taming bears in your neighborhood.....🤨

Coyotes chasing cyclists and biting them in Stanley Park.

Two Cougar attacks in Anmore and Port Moody in the past week. I’ve lived in the area for a long time and could recall one cougar attack 15+ years ago and plenty of coyote sightings but never a bite on a human.

Only regular issue was garbage bears getting too normalized to living near humans. Cougar ‘sightings’ are always posted in North Shore hiking / biking areas.

And this afternoon getting buzzed by young eagles while walking my dog. So close I could feel the wind under their wings as they flew past me. Ended up carrying the dog for quite a while after noting the eagles were still hovering quite close nearby.

Is this a food supply issue or is it because humans aren’t getting out being active as much?

my cat of 9 years of age was plucked from right outside my apartment bulding by a bird of prey. At first I thought it was an eagle, but I know bird calls quite well from spending so much time outside, and after reliving the sound it my head over and over again I believe it was an owl.

I had all my windows open last year at the end of may, right after the sun had set, when I called my cat inside. I heard the loud shrill call of a bird and literally felt what happened. I knew he got taken. I mentioned this to someone who I dont think belived me until he took a walk through Mundy park and Informed me about a massive owl he saw in broad day light.

Owls will spit out pellets of hair about the size of a Loonie......I’ve found them on the ground and split them apart to find the hair ball encasing house cat claws with shards of bone.
In that case it was a Great Horned Owl, which would be big enough to kill and carry away a house cat....I’ve also seen Great Grey Owls take very large rabbits which would at least be as heavy .
