So I thought this afternoon would be a lovely opportunity for a bike ride... I haven't been out on the ole bicycle in over a year now, and I wanted to get out for a workout in the fresh spring air.
Clouds were looking ominous, but no rain yet, so I dug out all my clothes and gear from the back of the closet, headed down to the storage room to see if I still had a bike (yup, hadn't been stolen and all the parts were intact... so far so good
). Tires were flat as a twelve year old boy, so I limped the bike down a few levels to my car, found the tire pump, plugged it in and turned the key, stalled the car, which proceeded to jump two feet forward (silly girl, have to put it into neutral before you take the foot off the clutch). Fussed around with the pump for about ten minutes and then looked up to see an old jalopy drive past with an inch of white stuff covering it. Hmmm... weird...
Anyway, got the bike all ready to go and rode back up to the main level. Opened up the parking gate and what the hell? There was an inch and a half of 1cm ice pellets all over the ground!!! Now, I'm not a wuss about weather, but in my experience road tires and slippery stuff just don't mix, so I put away the bike. Too bad - I was looking forward to my ride.
