I got a phone call and as usual I like to know where my advertising dollars are spent with a little question, "Where on the internet did you find me?":

is not one I know of and don't wish to have a part of especially since they can't be bothered to put up all but one authentic picture of me.

Advertising can be expensive and often new and up and coming directories will steal pics from other existing directories or they'll have to courtesy to send you an email advising you of their intentions to build a profile.

I contacted the number on this site and got a frustrated woman on the other end.

How does one contact a ghostly site? How do I remove my profile?

Of course it's true...what are you implying?

They put up your information without your permission? If that is true, take a screen capture of your profile (for proof) and then send them a cease and desist letter. I get alot of spam emails from "escort directories and web designers and photographers" about employing their services, including one escort directory that pays to advertie here.

When it comes to my business, I want to know and be involved in all aspects of it, including marketing.

For everyone that advertises on CL, there is a website www.***gfe.com (I forget the name. I'll post it if I see it again.) that may be taking your information from CL and posting it onto their website. Someone brought it up before but I don't remember who it was. She advertised on CL but not www.***gfe.com yet her posting was on www.***gfe.com.

Anyone remember the website?

Perception in this medium spotty at best, PD. It's no mystery that tone in some posts can be misinterpreted.

It's hard to misinterpret "They put up your information without your permission? If that is true..."

Thank you for your response panther and yes, I was just trying to be helpful, I wasn't at all implying that she was lying, her wording was a bit off and it wasn't clear if they took her info from somewhere else and posted it without her permission.

Just for future reference incase anyone is wondering, I do have a Master's degree in Business and specialized in law and marketing, so not a chump when it comes to this type of thing.

We're both right...and wrong.

After re-reading my post I can concede how you might have thought that I did authorize the profile on the directory.

Re-read your post and you'll see what I mean at how I was slightly confused.
