Well, I am finally getting off my lazy kendo ass to get into shape.

I am looking to setup a cheap weight pile in the backyard on my cement patio. Anyone have any recommendations on a durable incline weight bench that will handle being outdoors? Need a wide one to accomodate my size don't need the leg attachments but want one with the barbell rack.

Hoping to pay under a hundred for the bench.

Don't worry, im not going to turn into a steriod freak. I am doing cardio along with weight training. I just happen to enjoy weight training. (= And I don't want a multi-gym. I like free weights.

kendo good for you man. You'll be right in there with duff "a lean mean banging machine.":)

The buy&sell has all kinds of good used weight equipment 4sale. However i always enjoyed going 'out' to the gym, as apposed to working out at home. I found i was more motivated that way, because you can see the success of some of the other chaps who are there trying to accomplish the same thing as you, plus the women that hang out at gyms is enough to make you want to go back. Hellooo

I would suggest you keep records of your, weight, waist size, and so forth. It can be hard at times to see if your actually accomplishing anything. Tales of the tape and weight scale don't lie. The worst critic is going to be yourself.

For your own reference you should take a before and after snap shot. The motivation you will receive when you see your body changing its worth the effort. Duff could help you with that with his new digital camera.:D Good Luck --- Kev

Why don't you join a fitness club? Then you watch the hotties in tight clothes get all hot and sweaty! Maybe you'll even get lucky!

Fitness clubs put me off, sure the ladies are nice looking but I want to work out not particpate in a meat farm.

I easily make excuses not to do things so having the weight pile in the back will cut down on my excuse factor. (= Plus I like working out at frickin weird times of the day. (=

Already checked the buy and sell...just wondering if anyone knew of a good set that was weather resistant. (=

Thanks Kev, already planning to make the measurements. (= I am good at self deception so some hard and cold facts will help. (=

BradLee: Had to look up the term. (= And actually I have always done my weights like that. I hate the throwing around of weights some people do...that just leads to improper form and injury. I have always done all my reps very slowly and through a full range of motion to maximize each movement. Just made sense to me. (= Never had a name to put to it until now. hehe
