This should also be a big warning to US and Canadian people and governments about control of water and conservation of water.
But what it really means is that the US governments (Fed and state) have to get off their asses and build water pipelines from the oceans, to replenish surface and subsurface water supplies that they have used over the last 90 years. (water tables going down etc). Build solar farms in arid dessert to supply the energy to desalinate water (evaporation under vacuum or Reverse Osmosis). These are pipelines that all can agree to build. If it spills, its only water...
Build plants for energy and water and fill the reservoirs on the surface and then build pipelines that slowly flood/soak into the land and percolate down to the water table....Fill up reservoir in California from the Pacific first, then lake Powel and Lake Meade. From the Bay of Mexico fill up reservoir in US gulf states, and then that gigantic underground reservoir under Texas

Here in Victoria water conservation did not work too well for the end user pocket. Well it did. It worked so well, people were conserving water, that the price of water had to be increased because people weren't using enough of it, for the CRD to make money....
There needs to be a plan for water pipeline from the ocean (van island, Vancouver/lower mainland) to the interior of BC and onto Alberta (maybe from rivers in the far north-tunnel through mountains to AB). Why? Sure enough if the US mid west and western states fail, due to water, those people will be coming to Canada for water....as that video states people from the middle latitudes will be heading north and south to get water....
Its either that we can support the amount of population that will come and want water, or be prepared to expel people forcibly (ie. kill them). Yes it seems drastic, but look what happened in Syria because of drought...
With the war in Ukraine and Russia, and the failure of food supplies to rest of the world, the remaining parts of the US, Canada, Europe that supply food will be hit hard, which is another reason our food prices have gone up. The video predicts that the food source in California are at risk of failure due to the long drought that has been happening for the last 20 years.
So what are the alternatives in BC to resupply natural reservoirs. In the past the people in the government, relied on RAIN. This is not going to replenish with the amount of population we have. Water conservation will help, but lets plans for stuff, before it happens....

Seems like Canada has enough fresh water, but alot is at risk, especially under ground sources.
Is most of Canada's fresh water underground?
Groundwater provides drinking water to about one third of all Canadians and up to 80% of the rural population. Some Canadian aquifers (stores of groundwater) are under threat and vulnerable to climate change and human interference.Nov 22, 2021 google
Human interference meaning fracking for oil....
The Canadian Navy has a neat ideal, its called a pusser shower. No its not take a shot of 151 rum and go have a shower..... Wet, soap up, Rinse off, using less than a min of water.
