Hey fellow Explorers! (Mod please let me know if this belong in 411)

Have some intel to warn of. Colleague of mine wife works at WPS and told him they are going to be pushing hard this summer for finding Johns and extracting fines. Help bring in some income for the summer on a system they know always is revolving. They are planning on about 10 “girls” revolving in the city and also she mentioned one travelling girl from Toronto that was busting that has now flipped to help law enforcement catch guys.

Now I know this is second hand from my colleague but i would say is credible. So please be careful out there !

I really shouldn’t let you post it because it’s third party information. No offence but I’ve heard this story many times over the years.

Get the lower level explorers to inform on their suppliers. Eventually they get to the Boss explorer and win!
Thanks to the Mole Girl in Leo.
Never trust anyone from Toronto

The same principles that apply to avoiding scammers are relevant to avoiding potential stings.

If someone charges well below average rates, has nothing besides a LeoList ad, agrees to anything and everything you ask for, says she's available anytime, no deposit required... consider that while real providers have boundaries to what services they'll offer and other life commitments to schedule around, scammers have no such limitations.

Similarly, if an ad is an attempt to bust you for buying services, they will try to get you through the door as easily as they possibly can.

Stay cautious and alert, and think with the big head.

Bring in more income? Lol get serious any income generated from this would be a drop in the bucket and would not even cover the costs of the resources they deployed.

It’s simple just stick with well known well reviewed providers on here and you will never need to worry

Can confirm 1000% on this. Fun fact, the WPD Counter Exploitation Unit, has already started dabbling in the Selkirk - Duffrin & Jarvis area since middle of May, this year. All the more reason to contact only reliable perb providers.

Selkirk - Dufferin & Jarvis areas are legendary known spots where police are set up in sting operations to catch people in vehicles, and to help vulnerable people.
This is nothing new, if you read the media reports or the WPS news on the WPS website, as it has been reported for years, if not decades (at least since online began)
I have yet to see any WPS news report of a sting being carried out at a hotel, house or physical location where people are arrested & the women are helped.

I will update this by saying a few years ago (maybe 10 years now?) that I do recall a hotel in the south Pembina area which had some unwanted media coverage for blatant pimp/prostitute/gang involvement over a few days/a week (?), and was the hotel shut down?
Just south of Chancellor Matheson.
Anyone remember the details?

If I remember correctly didn’t it burn down or something?

I'm finding it hard to understand exactly what you're saying. Perhaps you typed this in a panic, so I will ask some questions.

WPS will have have 10 "girls": Do you mean 10 undercover female streetwalkers? 10 fake ads on LL and OM?

One travelling girl from Toronto: What does "that was busting" mean? Is this street slang? Sorry I don't speak jive. Does busting mean she was providing services? Is this a girl that commonly frequents Winnipeg and that some PERBites may be familiar with? To me this is a real threat where you've seen a provider before and developed trust - but now she's working to bust you.

As some have mentioned above, street stings are nothing new. Seems to happen once/year and they do catch johns and impound vehicles. But to be honest, I didn't think there was a lot of street activity anymore with the proliferation on online ads. Certainly not like the 80s in the exchange district and the low track on the other side of Main Street.

One thing that concerns me is the experience I recently went through trying to line up a provider for an outcall. I unfortunately sent funds for a deposit to someone who never showed up, and in the eye of the law this is 'paying for service'. The person I was communicating with could be WPS. Even more unfortunately, I provided my address for the outcall. The fuzz hasn't shown up at my door yet, but it could happen. I was so ridiculously stupid but I've learned a valuable lesson that I should only communicate with well-reviewed providers and quit trying to find the needle in a haystack.

i have sent deposits to unknown providers several times, and incidentally, i got scammed several times. however, i have never been concerned about law enforcement. i think you're fine.

like you said, it's best to go after the reputable providers. no reviews is almost synonymous with more trouble (whether thats losing money or something worse).

I hear what you're saying, but this 'warning' gives me reason to suspect that it 'could' be true and with a pre-visit deposit I'd be cooked. But in my case if something bad were to happen it would have by now.

It sure is a good tactic though if LEO were to decide to use it.

Solicitation of sexual services is illegal.
My understanding is if caught and you arrived in a vehicle, they can even permanently impound your vehicle.
Prostitution is not illegal, so SPs would not be arrested, which is why the scammers have a great gig. In order for a scammer to be prosecuted, a perb MUST confess to partaking in illegal activity.

I hope this thread gets closed soon, as it is getting painful to continue reading.
