Oh fuck, I had this one at work start expecting rides, cause I pass by the waterfront station on my drive home from work. The first time was because it was raining and we all worked really late into the evening. Then the next day, she is out there just standing by my car after work, except this day is was still light out and sunny. I told her I wasn't headed that direction, and she got all mad, and told me how many creeps bother her when she walks home.

But, actually, the profile of a rape victim isn't what you would expect. I do know a few women this has happened to and they were the quiet librarian type. I have never seen them wear anything remotely sexual, and make-up? Never.

Statistics compiled show that the typical rape victim has longer hair, is slight of figure and not overly tall. Also, the typical victim does not fall into the 'total hotty' category. It seems even rapists are intimidated by beautiful women.

But, then, rape ain't about sex, it's about control and it is being perpetrated by cowardly men, so they aren't going to attack a woman with the shoulders of a line backer,and the arms of a steelworker, and the chins and ass of a trucker. So, I told my neighbour she was pretty much safe to go anywhere she liked.

Also, the stats of rapists generally are people who knows their victim and the actual chance of some random guy attacking you is like less than 5%.

Whenever I hear people saying they're afraid of dark, shadowy, empty places because they are fearful of people attacking them, I always say...
"attackers/muggers/rapists generally wait in places where people actually walk by.... nobody is gonna wait in the middle of nowhere thinking that maybe this might be the night where someone might randomly walk by...."

Ya, but he has a point. Why is it the women you are least likely to find attractive, are the one's that seem to think they are the target of every perbert out there.

Its the same chicks that think all the guys are hitting on them, want them and are out to sexually harass them. I call it ditchpig syndrome

Females from the office always ask me or my coworker to walk them to their car or skytrain. They usually tell me they think guys are looking at them weird or they are afraid of rape. Just curious do all females feel this way? Cause when i look at these females from work...i think holy shit these chicks are unattractive or husky looking. Not sure what type of freak would actually wanna have sex with them.

They all feel that way. Just tell them to pick up a few knives and
pepper sprays for sicko animal attacks & stuff them in their purse,
bra & panties.

Walked through there with my daughter (we had the all day bus pass and went all over Van) and walked across Hastings where the library used to be (kitty corner to cop shop) and the guy in front of us had hand cuffs on and was being escorted by two cops....she was too young to notice anything...

Also, I've noticed the tourists come off the cruise ships and walk right through the worst areas in their crisp upper middle class clothing and the wave of rabble parts cleanly around them. They are bright spots bobbing innocently across the same quicksand that sucks the downtrodden under.

Workplaces and parking lots of same are great target areas though, far higher than skytrain stations or back alleys...although, if you were walking down a back alley and a 'bad 'un' was in there he/she would probably take the opportunity...
