In Victoria over the last 5 years, 3 agencies (Class Choice, Seductions, and VIPS) have shut down and in the last 4? years 2 agencies have started up. What I seemed to notice was the closed agencies was the lack of high class escort and more the average woman in the line ups and pictures online websites. Any successful escort went independent or moved to Vancouver. The closed agencies also started to have a drop in numbers of escorts too.

When IF started up they had the higher class escorts (I would call them better bods), but also a higher base price then the closed agencies and list of extras to be had ( the list of extras DFK, LFK, DATY, BBBJ, COF, COB, Fingers, GREEK, if you touched them, you pay extra). IF it seemed to appear out of nowhere with a few women that were on Fetlife.
Vogue then started up with the same basic higher price and lists for anything extra.

On IF and Vogue websites they have a large list of ladies available, but they seem only to work once in a while, with 5-7 being on a regular schedule.

5 years ago I would of defined a GFE, as sex, cbj, daty and lfk (all included). PSE as GFE plus bbbj and ass play or other sport.

Today GFE base price + daty + lfk. PSE is base pay +daty + lfk + bbbj + other. Overall the increase in the number of extras increased the overall price of the session.

I have to wonder if the higher prices at IF and Vogue contributed in some way to loss of the other 3 agencies in Victoria. (here i'm thinking the better looking gals went to get better wages).

Already the price of inflation has made several hobbyists cut back on pooning. So I am guessing that they are not paying for alot of the extras which they would normally have gotten 5 years ago.

I'm just wondering if escorts business models are going to be changing due to inflation. eg. Lower prices and make up the difference in Volume, or Quality and charge for all extras or a set price overall for the session.

The problem I see is that if the basic rate is too high, or the extras are too expensive, pooners will not bite.

It might mean more aggressive men walking the streets.

You could consider starting a university course on the subject, a sub-category 3 credit course at a local university titled “The Business of Sexwork” with Professor 80 watts.
You ask some valid questions. There are so many variables in the equation I wouldn’t even consider hazarding a guess.
Having been to Europe I have seen the different ways we deal with sex work vs. the European model. We have much to learn and to change.
How many men do you know that advocate for the *rights* of the average John? None that I know of. So we exist in a bubble of undisputed semi-legality. Sort of.

Demand is pretty inelastic, especially with the continual influx of hot money, and people who don't need to work for a living. I'm on the mainland where 300/h became the "standard" rate only months ago. Now 300/45 is starting to be the "new normal." It'll only keep getting higher. There are guys who poon/review at least once a week on Perb, every single week. I'm sure they are not the only ones being able to do so.

Can't speak to Class Choice or Seduction Unlimited as they closed just as I was getting back into this hobby. However, SweetVIPs certainly had some gorgeous and exquisite women working there -- Siren (now at IF); Ravi/Frankie (Vogue, now Indy); Mischa (Indy); all top of the line in looks and services.

There were more I got to see but they are no longer 'available' so I won't mention names.

I will say that under different circumstances, the pricing and menu selections would dissuade me from seeing very many ladies. But considering I'm going to more funerals than birthday parties every year, I'm not too concerned about my finances like I was when I was young. I can, however, say that 'sticker shock' is real at times even in my situation.

I don't have any answers. Two bucks a litre for gas; nearly six bucks for a 'commercial' loaf of bread; rent is nuts, insurance is nuts, and taxes are about to go nuts, so how can we realistically complain about what the ladies charge when everyone else is breaking the bank for shit we can't even enjoy!

I would say that my cost has stayed about the same for the last couple of years. With regards to extra costs, I find that these are asked about 15 to 20% of the time. But then I am pooning in a different market. I have been curious about the Victoria market but the cost of the ferry, hotel, etc., just isn't worth it in addition to the time to get there.

Of course, they do, it's a side-hustle for some of them, they choose when they want to make some cash (look how many pop-up at the end of the month or before holidays), they choose the guys and don't have to worry about some "manager" taking their money.

No wonder the younger hotties aren't lining up to join LeoList :)

Victoria's New Tourism Slogan: "We'll fuck you one way or another!"

NB: just saw a new sign for more indignities to be performed on Shelbourne Street!

To me it appears there is a big gap between the haves and the have nots. I live in Vancouver and you see the affluence there. However I also see lots of what I would classify as the working poor. This hobby is more leaning towards the affluent who can afford rates of $300 an hour. I also sense the independant girls would rather keep their prices high and work less rather than lowering prices and making up for it with volume

I remember the old days when It was $90 for 15 - 20 mins at seductions. The place was open late with some available bookings going past 3 am. You could walk up and check out who was available. It was normal to see hot university sugar daddy type students paying off schooling. 1 hr sessions were around 200 to 250 from what I remember with a good menu of extras included. Now a 1 hr session with all the goodies added gets pretty close to a 7 day ticket to Mexico. The normal price for touring ladies is even higher.

For people with enough bank its not as big of an issue but for many in this game it takes a big chunk out of their monthly expenses just to see one provider. Providers prices going up is not the main cause of peoples spending woes its that everything has gone up. Even tip percentages are pushing people to tip higher when eating out. $1800 for a small 1 bedroom apartment. The norm for a 2 bedroom is $2400+. Add in all the other bills and its a money pit. Lots are forced to bunk with others where they have a room but share the living room, bathroom and kitchen. A big percentage of adults are living back at home with their parents.

If you are not lucky enough to have a good amount of money saved up dont ever think about buying a house in this town but dont be sad because you can still spend your life renting to own. This town is turning into a tourist/people with money town.
Lots of rich cats dont even live in the apartments or homes that they buy but instead rent them out. Fine dining prices from the past are becoming the usual price at basic eateries. I know people who make good money but rarely go out for a weekend evening night on the town becuse they end up spending more then they wish to mention. So many people in this town are worried about their funds so much that they rarely go out and live freely but when they do go out many of them end up penny pinching to a point where its not even worth the hassle.

Its pretty embarrasing ordering off the kids menu at resturaunts as an adult but for the struggling new generation its pretty casual.

The one issue with the tourists returning though is the skid row situation. Its getting worse and worse here. Downtown is turning into junkie city. I dont know who would want to pay such high rent downtown with all that endless noise? I know a guy who pays 2500+ at a high rise downtown building and he hears more zoo noise from his apartment neighbors then from the outside streets.
Quality sound proofing should be the next wave in the housing market.

I pity anyone trying to get by, it’s hard as fuck now.
There is a huge stratification in Canada but it’s more extreme in Van than anywhere else.
Women have to make as much as they can, just like anyone else. And their prime marketability is time limited, look how many guys here shit on anyone over 30. So those ladies have an extra incentive to make it while they can.

The lower cost full service options in Victoria can be found at the massage establishments (Bamboo, CZ, Half Moon). The pricing works out to be about half of the 2 main escort agencies but the service offered does not likely fit with what those seeking a more GFE experience are looking for..

charging extra for every little thing is quite off-putting and transactional, almost like they’re gonna send and invoice afterwards with all the extras, fees and add taxes lol. Other countries and cultures operate in a very different way, which might be due to legality and normalization of sex work itself culturally.
I agree completely. The way that Island's Finest breaks down and prices out every single service is just ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or 2, they start charging $20 for a smile, $30 for small talk, $50 to suck on the right tit, $50 to suck on the left tit, $70 if you want do any position other than missionary, etc.

The Victoria scene has gotten so bad that I don't even bother going to Vic anymore. Pre covid, the Vic scene was on par with Vancouver. Now, the Vancouver scene is significantly better in terms of quantity and quality of women and the variety of price points. For me, no reason to even bother with the Vic scene anymore.

The downtown/east side shocked me like nothing in my life.
I hadn’t been there since about 2005.

I had to do a two week training stint near the airport recently. Stayed in a hotel and walked over to work. There was one overpass where the sidewalks were so full of poop it almost made me puke.
The place I was working at was fortified almost to NATO standards. Yet there were squatters cutting through chain link fences and breaking into cars in broad daylight. I purposely left nothing visible but they smashed a window anyway.
Walked by a building being renovated. Tradesmen said they had a huge pile of drywall delivered for one story of apartments. Squatters cut through fence and stole the tarps off the drywall. Thousands of $ ruined by rain.
Not a place I want to vacation at.
