Viruses being sent from email at TrueTianna.com

the wagons have certainly circled here.

The fact is that SOMEONE sent three virus infected emails to my account that a tech has looked at.

I was pretty shocked to see who it was from as I do not have a problem with this woman so right away I wondered who ELSE could have had access to her account because honestly I DO NOT believe that Tianna is a girl sitting behind her computer sending out multiple virus emails.

I have the emails, I have the tech who told me these are multiple virus infected emails with no content and because of the prior controversy, I am very skeptical of P100. Any person would be.

As far as taking shots at Tianna??? No one has said ONE NEGATIVE WORD about her. I do not believe her to be behind this but the fact is, it came from her account.

CLM and I made a choice to curb the situation before she was sent any emails similar as I am lucky enough to have computer techs close to me who have protected my computer a while ago while she does not.

If someone other than P100 has magically hacked into Tianna's account then she should know...I know I would want to know...so should her web people as they should be protecting her site better than that.

I was an independant companion for 2.5 years with 2 extremely high traffic sites and NEVER did I have anyone hack into my account and send girls emails under my name.

Someone is doing something and if this "tech" who rarely posts here, hasn't viewed the emails and has not seen them himself believes that someone could have hacked into the account and sent them out, then perhaps the best advice, instead of jumping on us, should suggest she get a better protection for her email account.

I was as surprised as anyone to recieve these emails as....as I have stated...I DO NOT have a problem with Tianna. I just know what I recieved this morning.

I do wish her well and hope that her email account becomes more protected. Someone is doing something with her account. That's all I know.

I am pretty surprised that you would feel so indignant that someone would accuse you of using her account as you have used Tiannas account to even post! That is extremely unprofessional.

Kind of odd that I have never recieved emails from any other provder that are carrying nothing but viruses however I get three emails from someone who is affliated with someone who has just recently OUTED an SP.

And we need some brains??? Sorry but you shot yourself in the foot when you compromised your integrity by a)outting Isabelle in the way that you did and b) using an sps account proving you have full access to do so.

When I recieve suspicious emails....because of your newly compromised reputation, of COURSE I would be concerned that it would come from someone with know-how and access to her account.

Just face it.....you were shown to be a person with no scruples and not to be trusted because of the Isabelle situation (does the "bald truth" ring a bell???)....so therefore you are a person that immediately jumps to mind when this stuff happens.

well its great to have you recognize this .... now I have never sent out a virus, I dont even know how to.. if I got one I would probably open it... and I dont have any of your email addresses... so Im sick and tired of all these personal.. attacks Im really tired of them all, I just happen to be on a work vacation to get away from this, My account is not being compromised here.. and someone is just using some kind of an account and putting me on the address.. the same as if you use a computer to send a text message to a phone you can edit the number and put what ever number you want.. I watched someone do this once.. and there is a program you can use as well I believe you pay a dollar for it.. and you can have them put in whatever number you want if you call someone,.. I could use this and call u from your own number.. and wouldnt that freak the shit out you!!! mj is busy she has no reason to do this, and she would not.... she is a good friend of mine..... I have no reason to do anything to either of you girls.. so figure out who is doing it and leave me alone... The last email I sent out was to the owner of www.downtownvancouver.com

Just to make sure that we don't get a rash of people trying to use these services to send fake emails under other peoples names...

These services do NOT hide your real computer IP in the hidden email header information. They ONLY disguise (on the surface) the sending email address.

So, in most cases, you can easily track down the network that was the source of the actual email. That does NOT tell us anymore than that, such as whether it was deliberately sent and/or by whom, or whether a computer on that network was just infected with a virus that it automatically sends out to everyone else, etc.

I love that comic. It's so true...but as said before we've had the evidence investigated by two unrelated impartial techs. We had no idea how to handle the email when received and sought answers. We are however very confused why it happened specifically to us.

I've been pushing Tiff to add her surname to her moniker, get this T4. Geezus, another "T".

So this thing was an annoyance for me today...and surprising who I recieved where it came from.

I have my own ideas why it is that I recieved these messages and from whom however that is neither here nor there. I had a tech deal with it and that's it.

I'm over this thing. My computer is fine and that is the main thing. I'm not a person to hold hard feelings so that is that.

As far as sending MJ my personal emails...I think NOT.

I wish Tianna well on her vacation/work trip and hope that in the future I do not recieve any further virus infected emails from her account sent from her or otherwise.

As far as Ironhead, we have all seen your enjoyment for Tianna and it makes sense that you would back her up. I don't know how many times I can say that I do not have a personal problem with this lady and I have no hard feelings towards her....I hadn't even THOUGHT about her until I recieved these emails. I am SURE that you would not call it CRAP if it was your computer being compromised from a certain account needing a tech to disinfect it....

If you have anti-virus software on your computer and you have it set up to scan your emails it is less likely you got any virus that way. Even if you have virus protection on your computer the weakest link is still you.


Simple precautions to take are

1) Don't use MS Outlook. Use Thunderbird or something. Outlook will run embedded Active X controls.

2) Don't use Internet Explorer, if you do, shut off Active X. Active X right now is the most common way to infect computers because most people have been educated about running programs from unknown sources but will still click YES when asked if an Active X control should be run or worse they allow all of them to run by default. Use FireFox. If the site you are looking at uses Active X, chances are it has nothing you want anyway.

3) Don't open attachments on email from people you don't know. There is an email circulating at least the last couple of months that tells you that you have a virus and it is sending emails from your computer. It goes on to tell you that if you run the attached program it will disinfect your computer for you. It then launches a control bot which looks like it does nothing but whenever your computer is online it can be remote controlled.

4) Inspect the header if you really do have a suspicious email. Some email worms, in order to avoid detection, go through the address list on the machine and send to people on the address list but spoof the header so the email looks like it is coming from other people on the address list. I have had people I didn't know send me an email asking why I sent them one. I had never sent them an email but we tracked it down to a mutual friend with a compromised machine.
