Its really funny that the Canadian comparison (to the US ) is that she did that 10 years before the lady in the US sat in the front seats of the bus, not at the back where black people were supposed to sit.
But more seriously:
Then you start to think why this never happened before, what did they do to black people if they sat in the wrong place? Talk sternly to them, beat them, or hang them....

Think about this when a coworker pissed you off, when they go to take a bathroom break, you unplug their computer and plug it back in. Its really sad that people are actually like this. No wonder racism exists.

An unruly rule that people use "Do unto others, before they do unto you"; really is an asshole of a response; for any human to do. It should be the Golden rule " Treat others as you expect to be treated".

Is any of the above history being taught in high school or elementary schools, highly unlikely unless they are covering current events.

Was there something wrong with having our first Prime Minister on the $10 bill? Is this a temporary thing or is Viola Desmond the new face of the $10 bill? If so, this is straight pandering. Her historical significance is far less than anyone we have on our currency prior. I'm tired of this "catch up" mentality the powers that be in society have in trying to push women, minorities and basically people who are not white men to the forefront of our culture, seemingly at the expense of them.

Before everyone dog piles on me with hate, I want to make it clear that I support EQUALITY for everyone in society. I am all for exploring different histories and different cultures and perspectives. They should get more exposure than they have in the past. They deserve their recognition, but not at the expense of what is already there. This is all just political pandering and if does a great disservice to Viola Desmond and to women, past, present and future if your motivation for helping them is only for your own personal gains and not theirs.

You should just shut up and accept what the Politically Correct concept is.Same as you should shut up and accept the Social Engineering that is going on in the education system. The same education system that now teaches and embraces the PC crapulence of "climate change" where kids come home from school and ridicule their parents about how they are destroying the planet.

Personally I think it is a slight/insult and will even go so far as to say it is a travesty that John A Macdonald has been removed from the $10 bill.....I mean what did he do as Canada's first Prime Minister other than helped build a National Railway and helped FORGE a country.

I dont like it and truth be told I did not like it at all when the series of Canadian currency started changing to the birds and in so doing WIPED out the regional representations of Canada. From the log jammer on the old 1 dollar bill as well as the refinery on the $10 bill and mostly the RCMP musical ride on the $50 bill.

I can understand anti-counterfeiting measures for currency and I am all for that.I dislike the politicalization of Canada's currency for the sake of scoring points with regards to minority groups.

Since this was posted, I've been digging around and recalled Sir John A is on the outs with Canadian Policians/Historians because of present day PC attitudes.

This is the Canadian way of quietly backing away from our history if present day politicians do not want to publicly endorse removing statues or public memory of our forefathers.

IMO Sir John A should not be paralleled with the removal of Southern US Confederate Generals etc.
