I like how he started this thread assuming we would know what the fuck he was talking about.
I like how, strangely enough, I actually have an inkling as to what this is. I saw some sort of blurb on TV last weekend. I thought it was pretty pathetic... it's really gone from being a soap opera for guys to being a full blow soap opera.
When are people going to start crying and giving vacant stares off into space for extended periods of time...oh...wait... they already do that.

The reason that they call themselves sports entertainment is that they use wrestling to promote their storylines. That's why the wrestling things are fake. In the old days, people just wrestle for the titles. That's boring because I'll then watch other sports which are more excited than this. So, to remove your confusions, you guys should understand everybody's needs nowadays. Man, let me tell you that 9 years ago I wouldn't watch this. However, after a few shows, I'm addicted to it. The storylines are so cool. You never know what to expect next!!!

I was doing my Masters degree then.When I was 4 it was Vern Gagne and The Crusher. Now that's Rasslin'.
Dude, seriously....don't judge. Who the hell cares if folks watch wrestling? Nobody said that you had to watch it. Besides, if you're not into "entertainment" then why are you always making remarks about other peoples tastes and choices just to get a reaction? And I know you love watching "The Hills" every Monday night too.

All right!! The answer is Vince knows how to make more money than any other good old traditional sports!!!! If you took economic courses, you should know how to not let your business dies!!!! There're lots of 14+ human beings love the storylines of the WWE because you gotta follow the market demands in this generation!!!!! By the judgement of going back to real and traditional wrestling, HubbaHubba, you are not accepting much of the new things that the geniuses have created in this century!! Oh man!!! Grow up!! Very very true. and although I don't agree with Vince's ethics, I do give him credit where credit is due.
Wrestling has always been entertaining but WWF/WWE has been EXTREMELY influential in its efforts to make ALL sports more entertaining.
North American sporting events have all used WWF's techniques to draw attention from the fans and creat hype. The NBA was the first.
-Loud music
-Turning the lights right down
-The light show
-The announcer's booming voice
These are all techniques that were never used by any pro sports until WWF/WWE and they are very successful at building tension and keeping the fans excited.
Not to mention Pay-per View which WWF pretty much pioneered in the 80's with their Wrestlemania type events. Boxing was quick to follow and now it is a standard in our home entertainment options for all types of viewing.
I'd say Wrestling has had more of an impact on the viewing experience than any other sport. Not that I agree with McMahon, he is no idiot. IMHO.
I was channel suring today and saw WWE and had to stop and watch the soap opera drama unfold...almost as bad a perb somedays with some of the posts, BUT anyways OMG HHH used to be a decent to hot looking dude. Now, he looks freakishly un-natural and unhuman looking to me I understand roiding out to get started and getting faster results BUT come on when you start looking like a cartoon character (yeild shape from top down) "it's time to stop"
When you look at the alarming numbers as of late and the past few years of these great wrestlers dying, ya know it ain't because of over eating, malnutrition, oversexed, it's because they are roided as well as pain killered out, and what a shame.
Here's to all the great fallen wrestlers of all our time (thumbs up) thanks for the entertainment when I was bored and all the hotties I had to drool over and fantasize about..LOL

Anyways, I think WWE has enforced that each of their superstars has to be tested regularly for steriods and other drugs. So, I'm not sure if they take less than the past or not. I like HHH's DX's character!!!
