Vijay Singh has been on fire the last 6 months and has finally taken the #1 PGA ranking from Tiger Woods, Vijay is the best golfer in the world right now and he is showing no sign of slowing down at age 41. Tiger and Vijay don't like each other and I have no idea why? Vijay has won 6 events this year alone with 11 events to go he's won 1 major the PGA Championship his 2nd PGA Championship and he is almost a lock to win the PGA player of the year award.

tiger is also consumed by his blonde model gf. And he seems messing up his own golf swing.

I like Vijay's swing.

I am hoping Ernie can challenge Vijay for the ranking overtaking Tiger too

Tiger and his Swedish G/F have broken up. Tiger has alot of thing's on his mind as his dad isn't feeling well. However Vijay is the man and is the best in the world and he has been the best for the last 2 years and it was just a matter of time before he became the #1 golfer in the world, Vijay makes everything he hits look so easy.

Great to see such a great golfer as Vijay. But put him on top for 4 or 5 years and everyone will be eager to watch him crumble as well.

IMOHO fans and the sensationalist-happy press are morbidly and ruthlessly fascinated with watching the superstar atheletes crash and burn...

It's good for the game but playing as much golf as I do, I've really come to respect how good Tiger is. Not that I'm a fan, he'll be back rather quickly I think. Vijay's had a great 1 1/2 yrs, as has Els, and if you look at some the others like Mickelson, Love, Toms and Weir, and some of the young guys coming up, the sport's in fine shape.

Weir could learn something very important from Vijay and that's playing more often.

What until Vijay get a g/f like Tigers his swing will be focused in a different direction ..!

I am happy for Vijay yet .. I think the ranking system is pretty stupid, Vijay should have been NO.1 some time ago ..

Vijay should have been ranked #1 months ago. The PGA ranking system is bizare and heavily waited in the past - it might even go back up to 3 years. Vijay is definitely playing the best golf in the world today.
Dont be surprised to see changes in the ranking system in the near future.

Too far from Edmonton MP's now
To clarify, the ranking system is a moving window that is two years in duration (most recent tournament completed, and back for 104 weeks). It does weight the current year more heavily, but in a lot of people's opinions, probably not heavily enough, because most fans can see clearly the right now at least Singh, Els, and Mickelson have played better golf than Woods for six months or so. It is nice to see someone topple Woods from the #1 spot even though I am not a Vijay fan. All that being said, in a little less than two weeks, the best event in golf takes place - Ryder Cup! The sport is really in great shape overall right now and the big four in golf kind of remind me of the tennis days when Borg, McEnroe, and Conners, were dominating the tennis world just prior to the emergence of Lendl, Edberg, Wilandar, and Becker.

I'm glad to see Tiger's 264 weeks as number 1 come to an end only because it's good for the sport. You must keep in mind that tiger hasn't been playing his best and Vijay is playing the best in his career right now. I don't think people understand how much pressure there is on tiger and he's just surrounded by so many distractions. Vijay is 41 has a family, very little endorsements and outside distractions compared to tiger. He won't stay at number one for long, I'm sure tiger will use something like this to get his game back in gear.

I'm just happy that David Duval made the cut finally. =)

According to ESPN they did break up, I watched SportsCentre on ESPN and they said they are through. And to be perfectly honest with you guy's I could care less Vijay becomes the #1 golfer in the world and all everyone wants to talk about is Tiger & his Swedish G/F, Vijay worked so hard to become the #1 man and all the media aren't giving him the respect he deserves as all they are talking about is Tiger & his ex.
