I have a project I have been putting off forever but finally have time to do it while it’s cold outside. I have a ton of SVHS and VHS home videos that I am wanting to transfer to DVD and have edited or have someone spend a bit of time teaching me the process of what is involved in editing. I also have a few other ideas that of things that I am wanting to do such as doing video captures from DVDs of a trip to Mexico. I have a new gaming computer that is capable of doing the work, but lack both the programs and knowledge to get me going on what to me seems like a fun project that is too overwhelming to get started. Anyone in Edmonton that can give me some ideas please post or PM. I don’t need receipts so cash works for me. Thanks all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Thanks Muffdiver

I will do some reading up on the program. Still looking for a way to actually transfer my SVHS and VHS tapes from video to CD.

first you need a video capture card.. here is the one I have:

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX9749(ME).aspx

it has the red, white, and yellow rca jacks so you can plug in your vcr, tv, dvd player into your computer...

the program that comes with the card allows you to easily capture video, as well gives you the functionality to edit your videos, create menu and chapter select for dvd authoring, and burns to dvd straight from the program.

I use this for my own home vids, as well as for some simple stuff for work.

real easy to use...
