Funny, I'm sitting with my etymologist friend, and we're discussing the difference between who's and whose.I'm sitting g with my entomologist friend. We are discussing this. A western widow is black and its from the genus latrodectus who's toxin is not necrotising.
I think you're confusing the brown recluse or one from that genus with a widow.
Awww...show me where the bad bug bit you, and once I'm well, I'll kiss it better!Sorry to hear about the bite babe. Ow ! I know how it can hurt. Long ago got a bite on the inside of my lower lip. Haven't drank coca cola since.
The explanation is a beach, at night, a can of coke in the sand, and reach down for a drink and I quess Mr Spidey had been attracted by the sweetness. He didn't want an internal tour of me so hung onto the inside of my lip with his little pincers. I didn't want him hanging on and he got ejected somewhere onto the beach. Luckily, not a venomous type.please explain
UPDATE: After a month, I am completely recovered, except that I am now allergic to most antibiotics and need to order a Medic-Alert bracelet to that effect. I dropped 22 pounds in 8 days (since a diet of morphine, sulfa drugs and gingerale will do that!) There was no necrosis and the original mass that was nearly the size of my fist is gone. There is some lasting redness at the spot, but no scarring. Live and learn! Most importantly, remember what your mom said; don't pick it, don't squeeze it, or you will make it worse when it gets infected. Mom knows!1. Clean and Protect
Clean area with gentle soap and water.
Apply antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.
2. Control Swelling
Ice the area.
Elevate area if it is on an arm or leg.
3. Save the Spider, if Possible
Kill and save the spider for identification purposes.
4. Call a Health Care Provider
Prompt treatment is important, especially for children. Venom from a brown recluse spider bite can cause tissue damage that can lead to scarring, as well as more serious complications.
Bring the spider to the health care provider's office if you can.
Do you think it was the Spider who made you want to take a time out from Perb?UPDATE: After a month, I am completely recovered, except that I am now allergic to most antibiotics and need to order a Medic-Alert bracelet to that effect. Truthfully? Maybe...Do you think it was the Spider who made you want to take a time out from Perb?![]()
Exactly! As happy as I was to be able to zip up my skinny jeans again, I really could have done without the constant nausea and vomiting, to say nothing of the six weeks of :crazy:The spider bite diet!![]()
Well, I must admit; I think I HAVE developed a super power. There's only one small problem...Never be the same again eh.....
