Both are good...proximity...they are both located at the end of the strip.

Mandalay Bay is better if you like to sun tan next to a pool.
Personally, I would go for MB.

I'm really looking for a place in the middle of the strip. I know , noisy and all that but I have troubles walking sometimes. Especially when hungover. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a 4 star place at least.

Yes I've never been to Vegas and yes I am sober. If you go to vegas.com it gives you an idea of were the hotels are. I am just wondering about some nice places around the middle of the strip

I would recommend the Bellagio http://www.bellagio.com/. It is located in the middle of the strip and is an excellent hotel.

MGM is actually a dump, rooms are far away from the casino. The Signature at MGM is definitely more classy. Since you're comparing two different category hotels, MGM and Mandalay Bay, then you should also consider Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn, and Caesar's Palace.

Personally, I prefer Planet Hollywood or South Coast.

a tip

i learned along time ago that everyone has there hand out for tips. When you check in at the desk and they are doing the room search, have a twenty in your hand on the counter and ask if there is any upgrades available. A lot of times they can do that at their discretion. i have gotten a lot of suites that way over the years. Of course if they say no upgrades are available, casually take the 20 away.

Depends on your budget...

If money is no object... Bellagio is the place to stay... Tons of eye candy all over the place... you can look... just don't touch as you're probably looking at close to a g-note for basic service. The Venetian and Palazzo are both really nice too (Palazzo just opened). Caesar's Palace is way overrated although the Venus Topless Pool is amazing... (Jewel was there on my last trip). The Wynn is also super nice but there is not much around it as it is just north of the heart of the strip. Definitly the hottest waitresses... Again... super expensive.

For me, the best value is the Mirage. In it's day, it was the premier hotel in vegas. You can get pretty good rates too and it's in the middle of the strip too. Rooms are nice, and it has a good pool.

Mandalay Bay is nice but like the others said, it's at the very south side of the strip. Great pool and nice suites though.

MGM is F'ing huge, but not all that nice.

If you are hoping to stay somewhere with a nice pool with a ton of eye candy... The topless pools at Hard Rock, Palms and Caesars are a can't miss. For young hotties... check out the Palms, Hard Rock or Mandalay Bay.

Hope that helps... Vegas Baby... Vegas!

WOW..Thanks guys and gals, I couldn't have gotten better info if I went to travel agency. I still have no idea where we're going to stay but I do know the lady is pretty open. She doesn't care where we stay as long as it's nice.

Hey John
as others have said it depends on what you are looking for
class acts 4-5 star are the belliagio/ ceasers / venitian
step below 3-4 paris / planet hollywood / mirage/ TI
one more step 2-3 barbary coast/ falamingo /bally's /Imperial palace
all of these are pretty much smak dab in the middle of the strip.
out of all of them Barbary coast is the smallest and probably the easiest to get around.

to get others recomondations take a look at expieda.ca
and read the review.

I have stayed at Imperial once and it was reasonable nothing to write home about.

IF you don't rent a car take advantage of the duce pass 5 bucks last time I was there for 24 hours.

have fun cause I know I will when I go next week:D

Palms

Bellagio=eye candy? Not.

If you want eye candy, there is no better to place to stay then either Mandalay Bay or the Palms (the one with the Playboy Bunny logo). Rio and Hard Rock is also party central. People who stay at the Bellagio tend to be pompous folk and in my experience, it's over-rated. If money is no object, check out Venetian and the new tower, Caesars, Mandalay Bay, TheHotel, and Wynn.

Any of the hotels mentioned above except the Stratosphere, Imperial palace, and CC are fine. The best value for your buck goes to the Coast hotel chains.

As far as Circus goes, the only thing going for it is that it's a pedophilia haven and the steak house is awesome. Otherwise, it's a flea-bitting dive.
