I contacted her via the Massage Republic site last week and she suggested we chat on Google Hangout to set up a meeting.
Then she told me that she doesn't accept cash because she was robbed recently and will only take Google Play Cards as payment.
I was getting a little suspicious by then but bought the cards ($150) anyway. Then she asked me to open them and photograph the code and send to her for verification.......my alarm bells were truly flashing by then and I contacted Google who cautioned me never to do that as it was a classic scam technique
I cancelled the appointment but am stuck with the non-refundable cards and will have to sell them to a third party online to get my money back. BEWARE!!

You narrowly escaped being scammed. Every other tech scam uses redeemable card as untraceable money transfer.

...to their credit Massage Republic have booted her off their site...now to try to redeem the cards myself which I'm told I can do by offering to sell them at a discount.
