For all it's worth, I really enjoy VanMan's posts'. I'd much rather see his than rude, childish, ingorant and jusy plain insulting comments

VanMan at least has class and doesn't whine, cry and look for sympathy if his pet has an encounter with another animal and then turn around and insulrt those same people who had kind words for him. He has class and decency. I wish those that post cheap, belittling comments, under the guise of an "honest" review and then tell everyone else not to read them if they don't like them, would take their own effen advice

Keep up the good work VanMan and don't listen to the whiney asses who have nothing better to do then put people down and then complain to the Mods when someone such as yourself posts stuff that brightens a lot of our days. It's because of people like you that this is a fun place and because of people like you that I find myself less and less in the alberta section and more and more on the BC side (even though the above link is from B.C. but hey...Every place has it's outhouse).

I second your sentiment BS. Screw everyone else.

The facts:
-the Mods and Fred have received considerable feedback from the PERB membership that they found vancouverman's excessive posting annoying
-vancouverman has been asked on numerous occasions by both the Mods and Fred(1) to limit his video/pic threads
-vancouverman agreed to respect those requests but after a day or two would return to the same behavior
-the Mods have given vancouverman a number of very short (15-30 min) bans to remind him
-after careful consideration vancouverman was temporarily banned this morning to reinforce that our requests were in fact serious
-as stated previously the ban was temporary and after appx 12 hours it's been lifted

The net of things is if the Mods or Fred ask a user to do something or to stop doing something then we expect they'll oblige. Its not an issue of being dictatorial or punitive, rather a request that is tied to either making the board more useful and friendly to the membership at large or to limit any activity that is detrimental to it's operation.

I think categorizing those folks who have a different opinion than yours as whiners, is disrespectful. We all come to this "free website" on an equal footing, and constructive criticism from those "whiners" should be just that - constructive. Dismissing or attempting to mold their thinking to be more like yours, promotes the very conformity that you are trying to avoid.

Not asking them to conform to my way of thinking. I am simply asking them to skip any threads they don't want to see - same as I do. I much prefer them to do that rather than whine about pix which, judging by the contents of this discussion, appear to be enjoyed by a lot of people. People are allowed to their own opinions but when that negatively impacts others' enjoyment of this site. then they've taken it a bit too far!
