Sorry if you didn't enjoy your time here and, thankfully, it sounds like you won't be coming back. This city is full of people who love it here and, for those that don't, there's no need to ever visit again!
I tend to agree with the OP...Vancouver does suck...

Toronto is the world’s eighth most livable city (if you don’t count Vancouver)
As the news cycle slows for the summer, reporters are leaning heavily on a pair of old standbys: polls and lists (a close cousin to polls). On that note, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) recently ranked the world’s top cities in a livability survey, and Toronto came in a middling eighth, losing points for sprawl and limited “cultural assets.” Despite their city falling several places from its spot in*previous livability rankings, Torontonians may not want to start with*the usual self-deprecation—even the surveyors admitted the whole exercise was weird. Previously, the survey used 30 weighted indicators in five broad areas, including categories like infrastructure and culture. This year, the unit decided to shake things up by considering spatial qualities like isolation, pollution and sprawl instead,*but they say the*new features “may not have been applied in quite the right way” (for instance, pollution-plagued Hong Kong came in first). Plus, Vancouver wasn’t even*considered, which is odd considering it usually scores well. If this list doesn’t help Toronto compare itself to its West Coast rival, then, really, what good is it?

Ok, so I had a pretty long shitty day at work today and this is the second thread I read - ROFLMFAO!!!! Thanks cheif/cheif/chef, you're a barrel of laughs! I wish I had something witty to say but my kids have long passed the third grade and so I don't relate so well at that level any more.

Ok the first thing I will say is that the OP comes across like a douchbag.Having said that I will now state my point of view from actually living in Vancouver for a lengthy period of time...as well as some other stuff.
The cost of buying a house in Vancouver or even Surrey is disgustingly high....you buy that house and it IS going to take you 25 years to pay it off via a conventional mortgage.
The BS "save the environment" carbon tax on gasoline is total BS...then again so is the "air-care" law.
People for the most part in Vancouver are elitist and snobbish....it is not a friendly city....you can make eye contact with a gal and she acts like a bitch who thinks her shit does not stink....saw this myself when my dad flirted with a gal and she totally gave him the cold shoulder ....she sure as hell did not expect to hear "fuck you! you hard faced cunt"
With regards to parking I personally think Calgary is far worse for ticket writing chalk jockey's as I see them all the time and I overheard a bunch of them on a coffee break and 1 of them was bragging about how he reduced a gal to crying when he gave her a ticket.....I really felt like giving him a solid punch to the back of his head as he was such a douchebag for being proud of what he did.
As for hockey teams....well Vancouver gets the all you can eat STFU buffet....Edmonton has 5 Stanley Cups....and Calgary has one...one is far better than NONE.
As I said I lived in Vancouver and I can honestly say I prefer living in Calgary....though I dislike how the City spends the tax dollars like drunken sailors on shore leave on such crapulence such as the peacebridge.

If, as you claim as an Edmontonian you and your city are superior, having class would dictate that you don't feel the need to spew your hatred on an internet bulletin board. It's hard to dispute that there's some great economic opportunities in Alberta. However, I am willing to assume that you're not one of the people taking advantage of all Alberta has to offer. So you would have no compassion or sympathy for those affected if a massive earthquake hit Vancouver and 500,000+ people were killed and 5,000,000 + people were affected by that devastation.
