There is a rental crisis in this city though. I cannot imagine being on a limited income in this city. And I've noticed the wages for service jobs is actually lower than elsewhere. People actually make minimum wage here which I found surprising.

You are correct on that quote. Affordable rental units are despairing faster and faster. As for living on limited income in Vancouver it will soon be a thing of the past.
Pretty soon, affordability will be a tent in a park.

A friend of mine lives in a trailer park in Surrey which was sold to a developer and he is stuck with his mobile home and no where to move it to.
So he will be evicted and his home demolished and he will get nothing for it. So he will be living on the street because his pension was barely keeping his head above water and now he will drown.
