The trade might never happen but it would be nice to see this happen.

As psychologically damaged as Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo(notes) might be after years of playoff disappointment and annual scape-goating, his detractors are substantially more insane. The booing at home in October. Whatever the hell "Occupy Luongo" meant during Thursday night's visit from the Nashville Predators. And, in the pages of The Province newspaper, an editorial urging the Canucks to trade Luongo for Vincent Lecavalier(notes).

I have to agree with the editorial. Lecavalier will be a great addition to Canucks while we don't have to deal with sloppy Luongo!

Terrible deal.

You want to get a puck stopper who won't cost you a fifth of your salary cap - 4 Mill Max.

Vinnie is about the same salary as Lou and sort of on the downside of his career now. His better days were when TB went to the final.

Lou sucks this year then buy him out, bite the bullet and get someone who can do the job without costing too much.

High draft picks would be better deal for the canucks.

Vincent makes 2.4 more per year than Lou.
Cory is gettin 900 right now, and would be due very minimum 3 next year.
Even more if he is a big part of any success. Would have to cut 5.5-6.5

Wow, who knew that one of the editors of the Province is as delusional as the fans...

in order to trade lu's bad contract you have to get back a bad contract. Vinny is a center which we have enough. We need a dman to replace Erhoff. What makes sense to me is a guy like Brian Campbell in Florida. Good puck moving defenceman with an expensive contract. Lu's wife loves Florida too.

...any dude who can't put his name on the story, doesn't deserve to be discussed. He's an idiot
Gotta improve readership numbers. The newspapers in Texas wouldn't do an editorial to get rid of QB Tony Romo. Billions allocated for BC Shipbuilding or Christy Clark's upcoming trade mission to China doesn't sell.
