I remember her. She was a Stephen Harper MP, and was infamous for refusing to campaign or debate or do media appearances in English at all, only Chinese. Beware of her, definitely. I bet she has a lot the Chinese evangelicals supporting her, and with so many mayoral candidates this time around, it really won't take many votes for one of them to win. She may have that silent but decisive voting bloc.

Just want to say thank you to Susi and everyone else commenting on this election. I had considered voting but the sheer number of candidates made the process almost overwhelming.
Before reading this thread i had given thought to just do a random pick of who to vote for. But thanks to this thread i instead did a bit of homework and research. I found a spreadsheet on the
Vancouver votes website and printed it out. From the research i have highlited all the folks i am going to vote for.

so we are almost down to the wire....

Kennedy for mayor !!!!!

and whatever mix of councilors and parks/ school people want as long as it is not NPA!!!

i am going with heather deal (cause she's awesome!) who is vision....jean swanson!!! and of course the other COPE candidates...

but in the end, as long as we don't go for vancouver first (fred harding is an unprepared former police man who met with feminazis and wanted to do consultations before committing to non enforcement) or the NPA who were so rude when confronted about sex work i can only assume the are in support of abolition - and of course wai young - who was part of harpers conservtatives and helped to bring in bill C-36....

outside of that i think with the candidates running we can pick and choose a team who will do right by vancouverites!

i feel like a blend of the various candidates from the other groups and indy's will make for a fresh approach and cover issues like property tax, housing, infrastructure, building safe communities and the opioid crisis.

so excited, i hope we can maintain our free city!!!

well yay that Kennedy Stewart won but scary that there are a majority of NPA / COPE on council / school board and parks.

Lots of angry citizens out there, tired of seeing their homes gradually taken away from them, so the upsets should not surprise people.
First election where the corporate (read: developers') donations were banned. A lot of rats left the sinking ship already; some remained and had to be kicked out . In my opinion, even more should have been.
