Vancouver man faces 19 prostitution-related charges

Vancouver police are looking for witnesses in connection with a prostitution case they've been investigating for the past two years.

Marek James Anisimowicz, 33, who also goes by 'Sal,' has been charged with 19 counts including living off the avails of prostitution, uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

"We're fairly confident that there are witnesses out there with information about this person,” said Vancouver police Const. Brian Montague.

“We're also fairly confident that there's at least one, if not more, victims out there that have not come forward to police yet."

Anisimowicz was arrested in early July and remains in police custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.

Police won't say anything more about the case as the investigation is ongoing and a publication ban is in place to protect the victims.

But do you mean the classic "Beat them down" pimps or are you talking more like a "Business partner" for protection, driving, etc…?

With all the ways LE, especially in the states, classifies pimps and trafficking, I hardly know what a pimp even is.

Pimp, to me, is someone who takes ALL your money. Then they pay for what you need. Of course they use the guise of "I am just looking out for you", "you need help now, I am here for you", etc. Of course if you are working stroll you NEED a pimp to protect your from other pimps or from getting rolled by other girls.

When I was with the agency, I referred to them as my agent, then of course there was the phone girl and the driver. I split my money with them because they did all the ad placement and phone answering and driving. That is a lot of work and a lot of headache. I just showed up with a smile.

I have never, ever had a pimp. But I know girls who have.
