Capone's shut down a little while back.capone's 1141 hamilton is a little hole in the wall with not bad food and on occasion some rockin' music. its very long and very narrow so not much room to dance. close to the music its too loud and close to the doors its not loud enough so go early and get a spot about mid-way... anywhere around the bar is good. you can see what's happening on-line. been there, done that, will return
Is it fairly easy to pick up decent looking, mature, pretentious women at these places?Sandbar in Granville Island is full of hot mature women...definitely your best bet if you're looking to meet someone.
I'd also recommend Joe Fortes, Bayside Lounge and Gerard at the Sutton Place for places that are a little more relaxed and easier to meet mature women at. Gerard makes a great dirty martini!![]()

Why would you even want to talk to a pretentious woman...? Let alone pick her up?Is it fairly easy to pick up decent looking, mature, pretentious women at these places.
Capone's was so great. Used to frequent there a lot. Live music, great pizzai goofed![]()
Guilt in Gastown in the basement underneath Chill Winston. Very cool.I'm a big Jazz fan - anyone know of any good Jazz lounges downtown?
Some of the coolest places in beautiful Vancouver indeed. In addition, YEW Restaurant & Bar at the Four Seasons is also a cool place to unwind. Great service, creative bartenders, good menu which even includes those good old mini donuts. However, as in the above places this also might not be a great place to meet mature women though. :nod:Guilt & Co is definitely very cool...I've been to a couple of live shows there.
Calabash also does different types of live music most nights from what I know.
I was very impressed by the Waldorf Tiki Lounge recently since they've revamped it. You feel as though you're outdoors at a beach bar in Hawaii underneath a starry sky at dusk once inside! Coolest ceiling ever....it reminds me of the Planetarium. They also have live music but they're not downtown.
100 Days at Opus is a lot of fun but tends to feel more like a nightclub on the weekend.
The Keefer Bar is also a great little gem. They make the most innovative cocktails in all of Vancouver, IMO!
Wouldn't say any of these are great places to meet mature women though![]()
damn odette i think it would be a dream to sit in a lounge and share a few drinks with u
Better advise my Grandaunt to lie low from Bingo for the moment. How much older are you looking for?
Perhaps Planet Bingo might be ideal?
