I moved away from Vancouver in the early 90's to a big American city. People drove like crazy. Littered all over the roads. And would point guns at you if you fingered them for cutting you off.

I was looking forward to coming back to Vancouver around 97. Well in that time frame that I was gone a shift in consciousness must have occurred in Vancouver. As the drivers were way worse than I remembered(no one signals anymore, they tailgate like crazy and never complete stops or pull to the right lane if they are going slow on the freeway) and people throw their fast food garbage all over the place. Leave that grap in your car and throw it in the garbage at home or gas station. Better yet you can actually recycle most of that shit.

As well show some courtesy. Smile and wave if someone is kind enough to let you into there lane. Now people look at you with there stressed out, constipated evil looks or their bitter sense of entitlement expression.

It was actually worse than the US cities I lived aside from the guns being pulled.
What the hell happened!!

Where's a good place to get one? I've seen some for almost $150+
It really depends on what features you want. In Brazil, the one I had was very inexpensive with just the one forward pointing lens. It's made by Megatronics as the 027 or 207

The one I have here is more expensive ($300 installed) but has a front and rear camera with motion sensor and a wiring kit that wires it into the car's wiring. It's made by Garmin as the 030 (just front) or 035 (front and rear)

Remember that you need to mount it in front of the rear view mirror. You aren't allowed to reduce the amount of the windshield that the driver can see out of.

I got the Garmin at Visions, Staples sells the Megatronic

Everyone keeps talking about the guy who crashed but what about the fucking idiot driving 55 in the fast lane? She drives in the lane she is supposed to be in, this accident doesn't happen.
He would have just found something else to be upset about. We have all driven behind the guy who is gesturing and honking at everything, but isn't really moving any faster than we are.

Do cameras come installed on some new vehicles now? It makes sense, then if you're ever in an accident or vandalized, you've got proof of what happened.

On the other hand, how many of you would have to change your driving habits, knowing you were filming your travels, or have to edit heavily before you could hand it over as evidence?

:p
I know of cars that have backup cameras, but not of ones that have dash cams installed.

lol, now you get to the "Cop Cam" effect. I think I drive more smoothly when I know that my camera is going to capture my stupidity.

According to this site, Dash Cams will be an option in 2015 cars

They have info and reviews here http://bestdashcamcamerasystems.com/category/dash-cameras/

Do cameras come installed on some new vehicles now? :p
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a final rule requiring rear visibility technology in all new vehicles under 10,000 pounds by May 2018. This new rule enhances the safety of these vehicles by significantly reducing the risk of fatalities and serious injuries caused by backover accidents.....

"Rear visibility requirements will save lives, and will save many families from the heartache suffered after these tragic incidents occur," said NHTSA Acting Administrator David Friedman. "We're already recommending this kind of life-saving technology through our NCAP program and encouraging consumers to consider it when buying cars today."
