Vancouver downtown restaurants with a sexy ambiance?

Heading out in Van this week and am looking for some dining recommendations. Good food and service are, of course, a requirement but where can we go for a sexy (or at least cool) atmosphere?

I'll be bringing a girlfriend or two with me and we may decide to put on a little show for my man. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Try Sanafir's mezzanine level beds & tapas style food or Society for younger crowd/home cookin..both sexy/cool.

Sanafir is definitely one of the sexiest restaurants in Vancouver. In addition, I would add my favorite for the last 5 years which is Chambar. Cool ambiance and excellent service. Blue Fig, Madagascar, and the best mussels in the city.

For a smaller and more intimate hip resto with good food, BIN 941 & 942 remains pretty cool to me as well.

Eh you might not be thanking me if you try their other places..glowbal has a crap reservation system/food so so, coast too clubby/loud/crowded (but fun for cocktails) afterglow meh/pretentious & italian kitchen the food just sucks! But i think the other two places will work for the OP.

I like Umberto too and if you can get one of their private rooms not the main dining area then that could qualify for "sexy"

food is always great as is the service.

Gotham is the best steakhouse for me but retro Hy's is much sexier. Hy's definitely has one hell of a porterhouse.

Quite happy to see Vancouver as recently being named by Food + Wine Magazine as one of the 10 Best Restaurant Cities in the World together with the likes of Paris, London, NYC, Barcelona, and Madrid to name a few. Of course, Tokyo tops the list.
