Is Brian Allan finally going to make this team? Are the Sedins finally going to start looking like the number 2 and 3 picks in the draft? Is Brendan Morrison going to stop looking like the weak link in the number one line?

Canucks --- 6 Sabres --- 1

The Canucks looked really good in there game against Buffalo.

They were scoring on the power play and there defence was solid.

Its looking really bright for the team if they can build on this game like they did in the latter half of last season. --- Kev

Jason King got 3 points. Good for the kid. Although it is still early in the season, Naslund and Bertuzzi are kind of quiet on the scoreboard.

Somewhere Out There
Just saw them wipe out Buffalo 6-1 and was duly impressed. Too early to assess them right now though. Last few seasons they took 20 games to get into the groove.

Thanx jtcb....

I was out at a movie. I like logging onto PERB and getting the hockey score. I saw the hit Bertuzzi took on Jackman. Good night Jackman.....i love it.

Jason King and the Sedins are playing well together. Its a very good sign.

I see the Leafs won for a change. There still LOSERS!!! --- Kev

Looks like it could be another season of good streaks for the team. Right now 8 games without a loss and 12 games in a row where they have scored the first goal in the game (ties 1985 Philly Flyers for record in this category).

Hey guys - it's November. None of this means a thing come playoffs. Why do I get the feeling they may peak too early. And I still think Bertuzzi will be lucky to hit 20 goals.

Not necessarily, lots of points now could mean alot come playoffs in the form of home ice advantage and weaker first round opponents. In the past in was hard to get too excited about a good stretch of games because they usually followed it up with a terrible stretch of games. However since the last half of the 2001-02 season they have played well enough and with enough consistency to be considered the real deal. They have the odd bad outing but they seem to have alot of confidence and bounce back quickly which is the sign of a good team. Whether they take the next step and become a good playoff team remains to be seen.

So what is your theory of how or why they turned the entire franchise around during that all star break in the 2001-2002 season???
What happened during that week?

......I think it was the same week my stash was pinched......lol

GO 'NUCKS GO!!

My predictions? The brothers will be right there in the top ten listing for points... & BERTUZZI? Will once again find the penalty box often... But he will provide the backbone... At last... & The secondary goaltender... Will be the consecutive ALL-STAR for the PlayOffs... GO 'NUCKS GO!! Bertuzzi you RULE :) The Canucks will see the Playoffs... I predict... *g* **shawna**

The core group of guys on this team seem to have some real chemistry. If I recall correctly it was during the 2001-02 season that Brian Burke approached the players part way through the season and told them if they proved they were a playoff team he would keep that group of players together. After that they seemed to really improve their play. Obviously they already had the talent to win but then they seemed to have the determination to win. Now that they have won on a consistent basis they seem to have the confidence that they can beat any team in the league.
