No really people - it's a sign of the times. When I was a kid in LA I could camp on Malibu beach any night of the week, leave my house unlocked, have my friends in and out while I was gone for days at a time camping out on the beach, partying all night and going to work each evening only to repeat. It truly was an endless summer.
Today that same beach is patrolled by cops and muggers and leaving your house unlocked in the city of Angels borders on insanity. In reality a lot has changed and our media has perverted our sense of safety into a constant litany of fear. As far as I'm concerned, I feel very sorry for young folks who never experienced Mayberry.
As far as I can see there are just too many rats in the cage and somethings gotta give.
