No need to villainize civilian women, when they are very clearly the champion here. These poor ladies are getting their pH balance thrown off daily by an unprotected penis or unwashed hand! As a sex worker, we have the privilege of not allowing that anywhere near our vagina, which is half the battle. There’s no amount of scrubbing that can rectify that situation.
Although Borax and Boric Acid are both Borane compounds they are vastly different formulations. No one is making Borax capsules.

My boric acid suppositories are 600mg, so not enough to cause harm, even if you ingested the entire pill! I don’t work unless the pill is fully dissolved. Trust me, a client would know if it wasn’t and you’d hear about it here for sure 😂
I’ll also say a large number of sex workers, myself included, experience recurring BV (not an STI, but a bacterial imbalance). It tends to happen in people with vaginas who have sex with multiple partners. It’s not known why, obviously, because studies on women’s sexual health and health in general are underrepresented. SOOOOO I use these once every week or so to treat and prevent. My doctor has signed off on this.
Before I started using these, when I got BV, I was using antibiotic suppositories daily which rendered me unable to work; or oral antibiotics which made me experience malaise. I’d rather have to keep using these supplements my whole life than take a course of antibiotics every couple of weeks for my whole life.
If a vagina has an odour, there’s probably a bacterial imbalance going on.
Years ago I went to a specialist because my armpits would reek. Shower 3x a day, baby power, baking soda, deodorant, antiperspirant, you name it, nothing worked. So doctor gives me a list of progressive levels of treatment and costs (all the way up to zapping the sweat glands in my armpits) and finally says: "and the easy solution is to shave your armpits."
So part of the civilian versus pro 'scent' is that many SPs do remove most of their pubic hair. There are pros and cons to doing that -- cost, pain, infection, ingrown hairs etc -- but the benefit is that with less or no hair down there, there's less area and opportunity for stinky things to grow.
A lot of women also manage their menstrual cycle to the point of simply not having one anymore. That can also make a difference (again, with many pros and cons) but can impact a woman's scent and vaginal health.

I can confirm the lingering smell of a civilian can be fantastic! Back in high school, when I first got my hand inside my teenage sweetheart’s jeans, I got a whiff of her wetness on my fingers. I was hard all the way home and beat myself off, while smelling her sweetness. The good ol’ days…

If the woman is healthy and clean it is a light musky scent. Not unpleasant at all.
If it smells fishy, as people often say, it may be time for a checkup or a shower.
