Rather enjoyed Joe's first press conference. Sure he got lost in thought a few times and clearly some of it was scripted (Which ones aren't?), but it sure was a refreshing change. I laughed so hard when someone mentioned Trump and Joe chuckled and said I miss that guy. For the most part he was on topic, was straight forward, told people what he was and wasn't willing to discuss at this point. Also, when he didn't know or didn't have an answer, he said that was the case.
Sure refreshing from the We have a plan, it's a big plan, it's a great plan. It's a plan nobdy thought we could do, but I did it.. I did it better than any president ever...

OK, I gotta admit I was wrong. It turns out that Qanon might have been onto something - in 2020, they were saying Trump was fighting a shadowy cabal of pedophiles in the government. An investigation opened by Barr (then Trump's attorney general) into a member of Congress has unearthed some very troubling allegations. Pretty sordid: sex for money, minors, trafficking and illegal drug use.

It might just be the tip of the iceberg. Who else in Trump's government was involved???? Any news from Qanon??? Do they expect any mass arrests?

With the past 4 years of Trump and his Wall for Mexico, are Americans going to come out of their isolationist methodology. Just before WW2 Americans were isolationists because of WW1 and the men they lost in it. After WW2 America went into the cold war with Russia and then entered into the world's police man in the 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union. As the world's police man, the US used its influence (big stick) and pissed off alot of people in the world who retaliated with 911. The gulf war brought "shock and awe" to the world. Now Russia, China and India and Korea and Iran are catching up in the technological world. These countries are building newer higher tech ships and India has a developed a Mach 7 cruise missle. Most of the weapons systems they are developing are designed to counter the Carrier Group of the USA. China has over 50 subs (non nuclear and hard to detect), and in the last 20 years has built a modern missle fleet and have made man-made islands in the Spatley Islands (in order to claim the oil there) and set up missle bases there.
Russia is in the process of updating it nuclear battle cruisers and surface ships with the latest technology.
For any military advantage, since WW2 it has been airplanes and the carrier battle group. Now whoever has the height advantage has the field. This includes space. Although there is a ban on weapons in space, I have to wonder why China is so set on space technology.

So is America still the world's policeman?

Yet I have lesser trust in the humanitarian intentions of China, Russia, India, Persia, and every fucking rapist dictator in Africa.

When people attack America for their foreign policy, and being the world's police force (and I acknowledge there is a lot to criticize), I alwways wonder just what they think the world would loook like if it was China, Russia, Saudi Arabia or Iran doing the policing?

This is true. However, I've always thought global policing should be the responsibility of the UN, not one single nation with its own agenda.
