Let's say you work for ICBC, maybe as a claims manager. A friend of mine is badly hurt in an accident and recieves a crappy settlement because of your adjudication and after all it's no fault insurance anyway. I track you down, shoot you in the back and kill you.
Not even remotely analogous.

Man talk about a thread disappearing up its own asshole in ever diminishing circles. Trolls going right off the rails when their shit is called. Posts that confirm education in the you es of eh is at an all time low. Trolls deflecting, coming up with all kinds of crap to try to justify them ... being trolls I guess. Bring on '25 so this thread can be buried 6 feet under.
Oh and Merry Christmas.

Go back and use your Canadian education and read! Everyone in the United States, even illegal aliens can receive healthcare at zero cost. Hospitals are prohibited from turning away anyone. It is similar to socialism, the people that work and pay for health insurance, pay, via premiums. Big difference, I can see a specialist within 48 hours, there are more doctors making more money and as much as people hate to admit, money makes the world turn. Like the hooker rimming, taking 10 guys per day, the harder a person works, the more money they earn, but some think a waitress should make as much as a doctor. Life isn’t fair and that attitude is not realistic, unless you live off the taxpayer and not support yourself.
yeah but... what about the trade war? how is Trump going to win the trade war?

Well that explains the thousands of bankruptcies due to medical debt that occur annually. Thank you.
I’m not sure, but question your statement. Before I address it, at least one person advocated banning me for basically expressing an opinion. Sound familiar? Regardless, I never had Walmart pussy, so it doesn’t matter.Be that as it may, there is no perfect system and America definitely has huge problems. Most of which are caused by corrupt politicians, which is the reason I like Trump. I know he is not close to perfect, but I also know he wants to blow up the current system. The people that voted, expressed that as well. I just want results, meaning lower taxes, secure border and placing America before everything else. It’s pretty simple! Call it whatever you want, but based on my background, the United States needs a huge reset and Trump is the only person willing to attempt it. I do not want Canada, or other countries to suffer, but I do want my tax dollars prioritized toward American citizens. Trudeau is Galvin Newsom on steroids, which is ugly. However, if the citizens in Canada vote for him, or his party, they deserve everything Trump throws.
Another point, when does a mature adult adopt a handle like masterpoonhunter, or masterblaster and the like ? Does the average Canadian really value the opinions of that type of person?

Calling people stupid and retarded is an insult, not an opinion.

Typical moron, exactly who did I call ugly? Apparently your reading comprehension skills are lacking, or did I hit a nerve?
To quote you:

“Therefore, do not give me your decay crap. I acknowledge America is in decay, but I hope Trump impedes the progress. You believe Vancouver is beautiful? You must like ugly women, to each his own!”

had a bipartisan package ready to go... and then at the last minute Musk/Trump sunk it.

the clown show doesn't end for the house GOP and they'll have even less room soon!

House rejects Johnson’s plan B to prevent shutdown

38 Republicans voted against. i guess Trump isn't all powerful after all.
Yep... the none elect president Musk telling his elected assistant trump what to do .

Dictating their mignons about what to do .... They should remove the debt ceiling so that trump can cut taxes at will since they believe in Santa Claus or like to wear pink glasses since tax revenue have no effect on the deficit and debt in their world.

Look up the definition of analogy. I will break it down for you Mr Blaster. My point was, if a person thinks Vancouver is a beautiful city, they must like ugly women….NOT ugly women live in Vancouver……..but Vancouver is an ugly city. WOW! Change your handle to helmet head😳.
Regardless, there has been much mud slinging about the bipartisan support for the current budgetary negotiations. A brief look at history will show a half intelligent individual what fake news calls bipartisan. A few months ago it was reported a bipartisan deal was reached on immigration. It was never reported that only a few republicans, China Mitch being one, which made it bipartisan, agreed to allow 5000 aliens into the US per day….1.8 million per year. Obviously the vast majority of American citizens did not approve, Mitch stepped down, and in a month deportations will begin. The bipartisan support for the CR contained a ton of fat (pork) in it, which had nothing to do with keeping the government open. Congressional pay raises, Congress not having to use Obamacare and paying for a privately owned bridge, just to name three. Trump and most citizens do not believe the fat should be included, so it was shot down. The US political system is a complete mess, the DOJ is corrupt and many politicians like Pelosi break the law, via insider trading. If it is not rectified, it will get worse! That is the reason Trump appealed to millions of voters. He is an outsider and it appears he learned from his last term by selecting other outsiders, instead of the normal politicians, for his Cabinet. Most Democrats and Republicans alike, care about themselves and not about their constituents. I want tax reductions, I don’t want to support illegals and people that don’t want to work. I do not want to supplement NATO if other countries do not pay 2% of their GDP. I do not want to buy oil from Canada and OPEC, because when we have our own. I think Ukraine is massively corrupt and do not care if Putin concours it. I don’t not want to drive an EV. I do not want to supplement other nations with my tax dollars. I want to bring manufacturing jobs back to America.
IMO, Trump is the only chance to right a sinking ship.

Troll strategy - attack other posters instead of answering the question.

We see where this is going.

You didn't understand the point I was making. Why am I not surprised?
You're the last person who should be calling people an idiot.
He is correct though. This is a pooner forum. Expect a minimum of intelligent debate here and also expect to be continually gang raped by a gang of group think thread TDS regulars and be called a troll if you dare post an opposing opinion or say anything the slightest bit positive about Elon Musk or Trump...or any so called Republican unless perhaps the name is Liz or Dick Cheney. They also do not take kindly to intruders in their neo con echo chamber. This has been going on for at least a decade, ever since Trump descended down the escalator.

waiting for your insight into the trade war thing... why do you not answer? we're all waiting! hahaha!

Lastly, there is a population half the size of Canada in the US that have no medical insurance. capitalism has consequences.
Physician shortage in the United States
Ok, I will bite. Although I am not an international trade expert, I am very well versed in commodities, securities, liquidity and how the exchanges operate. I will use oil as an example. Canada currently sells a lot of oil to the US. An uneducated person would think, if the US produced its own and stopped purchasing from Canada, it will be easy to find another buyer. Probably, …..but what if the US sold its vast oil supply to other countries, which is what Trump said he will do? That is where supply and demand come into play. If there is a ton of oil on the market, the price will plunge. The US will be saving billions of dollars not buying oil and is now selling the excess, Canada and OPEC must drop their price as well, or everyone will buy American oil. However, Canada is at a larger disadvantage than OPEC, after it drops the price, the oil will incur larger transportation costs to wherever. Therefore, the money Canada budgeted from Oil exports, is much less. Now take automobile manufacturing, if Trump places a 25% tariff on Ford and Dodge manufactured just North of the border, both companies will relocate the plants back to the United States, jobs and taxes will disappear. If they do not relocate, the vehicles will be too expensive to sell in America. The elephant in the room is NATO. If Canada is forced to pay 2% of the GDP to support NATO, it is billions of dollars. Seriously, the list is endless, those are just a few examples. This next part may be difficult for some to grasp. If less revenue is generated, only two things will occur, cut services, or raise taxes….maybe both. Now don’t forget all the jobs lost in the oil and automotive sector, those people have to eat, which will cost the government more. As a result, the CAD will drop much lower than it is today, which will result in higher import costs. All of that will equal inflation that Canada has never experienced. This is the reason Trudeau flew to Florida to lick Trumps ass. BTW, there is a lot more to what I described above, but after reading some of the comments on this forum, it will be a waste of time to provide detailed analysis.

The above is fact, now I will provide an opinion. I believe previous administrations got other countries hooked on US aid, which comes in many forms, including trade, so that the American government could control those countries. Think of a welfare recipient, tell them to stand on one leg or they dont get a handout, they will stand on one leg. It was the US government way of having the ability of stick its nose in another countries business. That is exactly how the so called coalitions were formed in Iraq. America said send your boys to war, or you won’t get shit. The coalition countries did not want to fight a stupid war in the sand, but for their economy to survive, they had to do it. The U.S. government made Americans think we are not in a war alone. In America it is called blackmail and gaslighting. Trump is a businessman, he believes the richer and more energy independent the country is, the stronger. To me, it is a better way to run a government, make Americans prosper, via less tax and regulations, weaken other economies and/or get them dependent on American energy. At the same time, increase war fighting capabilities.

I am currently in Calgary Christmas shopping. Thanks to the exchange rate, everything is on sale. I plan to buy my mom a Rolex at 30% off. 🤑
