One thing to note is that the only west coast port currently exporting US coal to Asia is... Vancouver BC! You, coal exports from Roberts bank are of American coal, not Canadian. There are none from Washington, Oregon, or California.
Imagine how high the pile will get if Canada shuts that export route down.
If it bothers you, burn your Canadian passport and stop coming up here. Sides are being chosen and you are clearly on the other one.

We have 15 free trade agreements with 51 countries which allowed us to weather the 2008 -2009 US recession easily even before some of those trade agreements. We started relying on other trading partners in the 90s which paid off and our banking system was in great shape before , during and after that recession.
In the early 80s when the US would get the sniffle we would get the full on flu . Things have changed drastically since .
The trump way of thinking with tariffs would hurt canada with a lower demand for our goods and services but not as much as it would have been decades ago . The January 21st future twit in charge don't know enough and is advised poorly as US importers will be passing down the cost which will be reflected in their inflation ....no wonder that their federal reserve doesn't see or plan to cut rates significantly in the coming year as they will have to deal with the repercussions of the tariffs. Regular Citizens on both sides will be the loosers in all that and the smaller corporations most likely.

Go back and use your Canadian education and read! Everyone in the United States, even illegal aliens can receive healthcare at zero cost. Hospitals are prohibited from turning away anyone. It is similar to socialism, the people that work and pay for health insurance, pay, via premiums. Big difference, I can see a specialist within 48 hours, there are more doctors making more money and as much as people hate to admit, money makes the world turn. Like the hooker rimming, taking 10 guys per day, the harder a person works, the more money they earn, but some think a waitress should make as much as a doctor. Life isn’t fair and that attitude is not realistic, unless you live off the taxpayer and not support yourself.
