Yes, they can but they would need to reroute which would make the cost doubled or even tripled, that is if china is successful in controlling that maritime area. It will collapse.

When that doesn't work chances are it will end up like Russia, with oligarchs running the system, with another dictator coming/rising to power.
Also the loss of exports means countries will have to produce their own products (or they will go to Indonesia, Malaysia, or India). The economy back home would have a increase in some vital items probally using as 3D printed items that can quickly be softwared into other items.

Also you need to look at why China has become such a powerfull economy in the last 30 years.
Alot of US, and European countries invested heavily into manufacturing stuff in China, cause labour was cheaper there. Look at a iphone the lastest ones are 1300-1700 dollars. These companies have been making a very very good profit by using China as a manufacturing mecca....What nobody is saying is who owns the companies that export out of China, mostly it will be foreign companies....
Go look in the household stores most equipment is made in China, with brand names that are Western (US and European). Few companies manufacture in the US these days, unless it with the military industrial complex of the US war machine. Although US companies are co-operating with European companies for military items like tanks and guns and ammo.

Should shit happen in China/South China Sea, I would expect big inflation at home until manufacturing plants can come online in US/Canada/Europe.

I am throwing all these facts on here to let people see and have their own conclusion if indeed they are accurate or not, hopefully share it here for other people like me to read and digest. Saying I am for Chinese world domination is factually inaccurate if you have been reading and understanding my opinions. And I am telling you right now it’s actually the other way around. I have time and time again warned that this will happen if the west doesn’t step up, shows the opposite. I only ask you keep an open mind. Do some research. It’s all out there. Come back and argue your point with counter facts not just being rhetorical with one or two liners. It doesn’t prove any of your point. The CCP has its hands full with domestic matters.

There are long lasting, deep seated structural problems with the Chinese economy. Real growth is slowing as demand from the west drops.

The centralized planning employed by the Communist system never works well over extended time periods.

The Chinese military is untested. War games and military exercises are no substitute for actual battle experience.

The US military has plenty of experience and still holds a technological advantage.

I don't disagree with a lot of the things you have said, only some of your conclusions.

There may be some people in the Chinese leadership that think now would be the time to attack Taiwan for example.

The US, Japan and Korea would counter immediately. There are a lot of variables and I could not predict the outcome.

In the long term , China could not prevail.

It's all hypothetical so I don't lie awake at night worrying about it.
