I got what you predicted....and I expected. Nobody addressing the fact that 3/4 of Americans and over 1/2 of Democrats believe they are heading in the wrong direction or why minority groups are abandoning the Democrats in droves. And whoever is President under an inflationary cycle is doomed to defeat. Its not all Bidens fault.. but much of it is for not seeing the issue coming and addressing it instead of piling on more debt. When he took office inflation was 1.9% . Well...actually none of it is Bidens fault. Anyone who believes that he is really running the country instead of some faceless cartel of people behind the scenes should have their heads examined. They just send him out with notes to read off a teleprompter and he can't even get that right.

But agreed.... I have learned going along that this is not a thread for serious debate and its hard to take anyone seriously on here and get angry about it....its more about memes and rants...sort of a place to let off steam.

It may not be a great board for knowledgeable political discussion but for its main purpose it is a very valuable and helpful resource.
you aren't going to teach people logic overnight... it needs to be taught in schools. along with numeracy and basic statistics/probability.

for example, stating that some parties "pile on debt" while others don't... the national debt under Trump rose 33% while under Biden it rose 8.8%. and as i've pointed out below... if you take out Roosevelt and Wilson who had to pay for each of the world wars... then Republicans hold most of the top spots for piling on debt.

Correct. Reganomics. Bush 1 and 2 Trump.
Under Clinton the economy was recovering. From Bush 1
Under Obama the economy was recovering from Bush 2
Under Biden the economy has been recovering from Trump 1 trump.jpg

I would agree with it all except for the first one.. Those are all legacy media sites and are NOT reliable sources. They all have an agenda and have been politicized. eg NPR who just fired an editor who complained about the non stop left wing bias even though he himself was a Democrat. You may note that every source he mentions here either has either a hard or soft left wing bias.
https://www.allsides.com/news-source/npr-editorial

You should always consider the bias inherent in the source. All Sides is a good determinant.

Edited to note....the same applies to "fact checkers" Most of them are soft or hard left

https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/fact-check-bias-chart

As the vast majority on here leans left its pretty easy to understand why.
It's an unfortunate reality that none of the media outlets are truly unbiased and many are outright lying and deceiving their viewership. I recently took a training seminar for work on Unconscious bias.. I learned that I have conscious biases that have been learned over years of experiences... this used to be called "wisdom" but is now somehow a negative thing. I am conscious of my biases, and smart enough not to blindly follow them, but to maturely assess things and try to see both sides before making a decision. Too many things nowadays are determined to be good/bad, black/white, woke/cancelled, ignorant/bigoted, left/right etc. without any consideration that life is not fair,.. there is a lot of grey in the world,.. people are far from perfect, and that your best choice may still be a bad one.
Part of my job is data analysis.. I was talking with my boss one day and I told him "I can make the data say anything I want.. but I have too much integrity to do anything but present it in a manner that is transparent and factual without being biased" It's not as reassuring a statement as you'd think.. because it also means that I won't make the data look good just because that may be what you want. :)

Varies now
As an old farmer once told me.... young fella

Figures can lie and liars can figure.
I'm not quite an old farmer, but the saying is, 'Figures don't lie, but liars can figure.'

Where did I say that some parties pile on more debt than others? Please go back and find that quote. Agreed its a uniparty thing. Debt increased under Trump for three main reasons...the tax cuts, covid and the the huge drop in tax revenue due to the large number of unemployed during 2020 which was the most disastrous year of the pandemic. I said that Bidens government should have recognized that fact and not piled on more unnecessary debt.
Actually on the same site it shows that he has actually added close to 5 trillion dollars including 2023 so those numbers may only be up to 2022. His term has not played out yet. Lets see what the final figures are before giving him a gold star.

How Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different — according to science | Opinion (msn.com)

According to Dr. John Gartner, a prominent psychologist and author — and critic of Donald Trump — the ex-president’s recent gaffes show something beyond your typical age-related cognitive decline. In contrast, Gartner argued that Biden is experiencing typical age-related cognitive decline but nothing more.

Gartner doesn’t mince words when it comes to the difference between the two candidates: “Biden’s brain is aging. Trump’s brain is dementing.”

"The clip of Trump then rolls, and he says something like, “We are a nation that just recently heard that Saudi Arabia and Russia will re-pi-tu, ahhh.”

He appears to have a cognitive glitch mid-sentence. Colbert then remarks, “Not entirely sure what’s going on there, but apparently he can’t say the word Russia without climaxing.”

It is obvious to me that Trump is cognitively impaired in a way that is not typical for even people as old as he. Then again, most 78-year-old men aren’t speaking regularly on a national campaign trail. To fairly compare Trump’s mental decline to Biden’s, we would need to see footage of Biden speaking for similar periods of time under similar pressure. Of course, we will never get to see that — Biden does not speak publicly nearly as much as Trump — but the State of the Union address did give us reason to think that Biden isn’t quite as cognitively impaired as much of the nation expected.
